beautiful skirt

I wouldn't say it runs big, I got an 8 and it fits like my pants... unless you like to wear your skirts up at your natural waist (which I don't, I like mine to sit at my hips). I don't understand why they call the color "plum" it didn't look purple at all to me... it's a very cute skirt, fits nicely and I would recommend it.

ginormous fit

I loved the pics of this skirt and ordered size 4. I'm a xs/size 2 but since the 4 was the smallest size available i thought I'd give it a try. The 4 was way too big - it fit more like a size 6. The material has a nice weight and texture to it but since it fit like a potato sack I couldn't really tell if it would look good until I try it a smaller size. I sent it back and hopefully a smaller size will be in stock soon

Depends on what your looking for...

The description says "stays in touch with your more bookish side" I would beg to differ with that statement. This Skirt reminds me of a strange combo of hippy and poodle skirt. It was way less tailored than I thought it would be and a little frumpy. To me more tailored, not frumpy = bookish. It flared out a little like a poodle skirt, not as long obviously. I do have hips, so perhaps if you have a very linear build this might work out better for you. Also, it would be nice if Backcountry listed the actual length of skirts. I wasn't sure what "tea length" would be considering I am 5'2", but this hit about mid, siding on lower knee. The main material is nice. The coffee color is a little lighter than it appears in the picture. Also, I usually wear a 4, so I ordered a 2 and it fit fine. I do think a 4 would have been a little too big.
