Organically Warm, Down to Earth Style

First off, I want to thank Backcountry.com and Hoodlamb for hand-selecting me to review this piece of gear for the benefit of the Backcountry.com community.

This is an extremely warm jacket, great for any cold weather. But, if you're planning on doing anything technical or active in this jacket...you may want to wear this jacket on your way to the slope rather than on them.

The material is top-notch. The hemp, organic cotton is well made and super durable. During a cold snap up in the Rockies Mountains, this jacket was my go-to when the temperatures were in the single digits with some brutal winds. Winds will not get through this jacket. It is extremely heavy!!

With that in mind, this is not a jacket for someone to be active in. This jacket has one thing it does well, and that's keeping you warm. You will not be able to move around very easily with it on if you're expecting to do anything active like skiing or snowshoeing. It's too heavy and makes it difficult to put packs on.

As for sizing, I'm 6'2" @ 220lb...athletic build...and a Large runs very small (tight across the chest when zipped up). The Satifur lining is the reason for the discrepancy in size, so it would be wise to order a size up or even two (an X-Large or XX-Large would be great for me). The arm lengths are typical in a Large, so if you're @ 6'2" and slightly a smaller build, you may want to also go up a size (XL) due to your wingspan.

What's really great about this jacket is the cool appeal that it has with folks. While not an active jacket, it's perfect for lounging, wearing on a commute, or bar hopping downtown. Lifestyle is definitely the priority of Hoodlamb for this product, and if you're looking to make a statement with what you're wearing...this hemp, organic cotton blended jacket will definitely have people approaching you in conversation.
