Description

Get buzzed.

Everybody loves waffles, but Honey Stinger's 16-Pack of Stinger Waffles might elevate your love to the next level. Not only are they delicious (with flavors running the gamut from lemon to vanilla to chocolate to strawberry), but they pack a natural nutrition punch that's tastier than lab-developed frankenbars. Most of the energy comes from honey, which is easy to digest so you never feel like you just ate a brick. The chewy texture of the waffle is just right—not too hard, not too soft—and they're so tasty that you'll probably find yourself snacking on them even when you're off the bike or trail. Each box comes with 16 individually wrapped waffles that are easy to stash away in a pocket. Heads up—Honey Stinger waffles contain wheat, soy, and eggs, so they're not for folks with allergies.

Caramel is unreal

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I was a little hesitant with getting the caramel option, but I am so glad I did. If you want to find something that would cause you to purchase it every single day because you went through a whole box in a day by mistake this is it!

Chocolate and honey are my faves.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've tried chocolate, gingersnap, vanilla, and honey. Chocolate and honey have been my favorites, but I'd get all of those flavors again.

Perfect energy food for the backcountry

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Honey is the ultimate energy food for a few reasons. Here are two:

1. It is the only food that never spoils thanks to its antimicrobial qualities. Archaeologists found honey in Egypt that was thousands of years old and upon testing was still perfectly healthy to eat.

2. Our enzymes can break down sugars such as fructose and glucose at the same time but only in a very specific ratio; otherwise one has to wait while the other is digested, which slows down the process. Honey is the only natural food which precisely matches the ratio of glucose-fructose that our enzymes can digest simultaneously.

Stingers deliver honey in an easy-to-hold, no mess form that packs flat, has a high calorie-to-weight ratio, are delicious even at altitude, and are inexpensive. They don't get rock hard in freezing temps like bars, and they won't make your pockets bulge either. Plus they digest easily and get the energy in you fast.

One or two of these plus an electrolyte drink and I am good for hours. I don't go anywhere in the backcountry without at least a few in my pack (I always bring a couple to share!).

Love my Hone Waffle

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These make the perfect ride snack! I love the way they taste and fill you up the right amount on a long ride. They are great and take very little space! You can put several in a jersey pocket and not even know they are there. The chews and gels are better than anything on the market also! HONEY STINGER!!!!

A good go-to snack while on the go

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These waffles are light and compact, and easy to travel with. I take them with me when I feel the urge for a small light snack before active sports (cycling, running, basketball games, etc.) They go down easy, and are not too dense, or heavy. So far I prefer the vanilla flavor over the others, not too sweet nor does it have a strong aftertaste.

Ginger isn't the greatest mid-ride

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Love Honey Stinger waffles. Love ginger and ginger snaps. Don't love the ginger snap waffles mid-ride. They do their job, just a little harder flavor to get down, IMO. Will stick to honey or lemon next time.

In general, they are a little fragile, so compared to a typical bar you need to be a little delicate. But so much better tasting than typical bars, so it's a tradeoff. Very compact too.

Love 'em

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Honey has always been my favourite flavor. Great snack, easy to pack on hikes, rides, etc. They don't last long around the house, so get lots!

one of my favorites

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been using honey stinger products for a couple years now in particular the waffles and they are one of my favorite cycling things. I'll eat them instead of a silly protein or meal bar in a pinch when I need a snack. They are easy to pack on the bike or in a pack and super tasty. They are a little crumbly so when you snack on one while your watching t.v. be prepared for some to settle on your shirt.

flat eats! Great treats!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I really enjoy the caramel Waffle, The flatness makes them pack nicely. Even when a crumbled mess they are still delicious.

Great snack

These taste great in the strawberry and provide a great amount of energy without bulk.

Why is the Honey always gone?

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I wanted to get some nutrition that didn't taste like dirt so I tried the Honey Stinger Waffles and haven't ever looked back. These things are amazing! Now I'm not one of those people that is always looking at the nutrition facts and trying to see how much protein I'll get from a bar, or how many carbs or blah blah blah, I just wanted something to eat on the trail while biking or hiking that wouldn't make me feel sick and would give me that little energy I needed. Are these the most nutritional for the buck? I have no idea. Do I like them? Definitely. Does my wife like them? Yeah! So it works out. If you want something tasty and doesn't make you dread having to eat on the trail, the Honey Stinger Waffles are a great way to do it.

Keeps me running

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Running 8 miles in the morning on an empty stomach is a recipe for a bad run, so I gave these a try. The honey are not overly sweet and I can run within 30 minutes after eating without any problems. Also great for hiking, climbing and biking. Lightweight and compact, but also looks and tastes like real food. On my second box now.

Great for anything

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used these on everything from short morning rides to full 24 hour races. They've kept me going through all of it!

Score

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The first thing I want to say is that no matter how much nutritional value something has, if it tastes like cardboard nobody's going to eat it. Does this have nearly as much nutritional effect as some other things I've tried: Nope. But it tastes absolutely fantastic. Therefore, it gets 4/5 stars.

Waffles

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

First time trying these, taste great! Excellent healthier option than a candy bar up on the slopes or out on a hike. Nice little energy boost without a sugar crash. I've only tried the chocolate but loved them and would try others.

Favorite Ski/Bike Snack

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Whether its after peddling a couple laps at the 12 hours of Sundance or during a dawn patrol skin up Brighton these are by far my favorite quick bite. I have tried all flavors except the honey and the tastiest(in my professional opinion) is the Strawberry. I love the texture of these and they don't make me crash, or feel bogged down.

Delish

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Perfect quick snack on the run. I've tried chocolate, strawberry, honey and vanilla and the vanilla is the best by far! I love the texture.

Cardboard

Maybe I got a bad batch, or maybe its the way they are, but I found these more difficult to stomach than other options. The one I had was incredibly cardboardy, think waffles left out all day, put in a refrigerator, then microwaved (that sort of texture).

I've tried the Lemon and the Strawberry. Preferred the Lemon, but I'd rather have one of the many other Honey Stinger products I actually like. It did give me a boost of energy, so it got the job done.
