Description

You see the bees? They don’t get tired.

While worthy as a wound dressing and known in the Hindu world as one of the five elixirs of immortality, honey is better known as the sweet syrup that we use sometimes rather than sugar to sweeten our coffee or drizzle over our biscuits at breakfast. It's known to have an easily digestible 1:1 glucose to fructose ratio, similar to the fruit we eat, that allows our bodies to make quick and efficient use of its energy without fear of an upset stomach. Sounds perfect for endurance athletes, doesn't it? That's why Honey Stinger uses honey along with tapioca syrup as the carbohydrate source for these Organic Energy Chews.

Along with Honey Stinger Gels and Bars, their Organic Energy Chews offer a taste and texture for anyone, anytime you need quick energy. Since the honey is composed mostly of simple sugars like glucose and fructose, it's readily absorbed by your body and turned into energy. You won't have to wait for the digestion of complex carbs before they can be broken down into these same simple sugars and used to produce energy for your legs. So quicker metabolization and a burst of energy sooner rather than later, sounds good to us.

Honey Stinger Organic Energy Chews are available in a box of 12 packets. Each packet contains one 160 calorie serving of Chews. Honey Stinger recommends eating them every 30-45 minutes during intense exercise to maintain elevated blood sugar levels, and so that you may be able to perform at your best. Organic Energy Chews come in four delicious flavors -- Cherry Blossom, Fruit Smoothie, Orange Blossom, and Pomegranate Passion Fruit.

  • Gluten-free, dairy-free and non-GMO ingredients
  • Lime-Ade flavor offers 32mg of caffeine from white tea extract

As a fruit snack aficionado, no performance food pleases me quite like my stinger chews. I can feel a rush of energy that can give me the extra fuel to push that 17 mile day with a 50 pound pack to a 24 mile day. Although I need to rotate what power bars I keep with me, the chews are always stingers! Climbing, hiking, backpacking, biking, skiing I use these for everything.

Tastes Great (to me)

I've tried many of the flavors, and they're fine with me, I like them a lot. I will say that the Cliff Shot Blocks are in a smarter packaging. When eating on the go, the Shot Blocks open and portion easier, and are one stacked volume of food. These are distributed semi-randomly in a small bag that is probably ripped open with your teeth. It is food, so if you like the taste, and your GI tract agrees with it, that's great for you.

Stinger products kick ass.

That doesn't really sound right. The hot spicy burrito I had a few nights ago certainly kicked my ass the next day.

So, Stinger products are really really good. I will go so far as to say they are "Yummy in your tummy" and they are gentle on the way out.

I have eaten enough and have enough Clif bar products stashed in the garage to last me through the next ice age. I kinda get sick of them after awhile and they kinda just sit there. The 'Guy' I help with DH races and riding camps and clinics is sponsored by them. The people who are riding love the fact they get free goodies at lunch and during breaks. I just get burnt out on eating them.

These Stinger products I feel are much better and way tastier. I am always really leery trying new energy or recovery products. It usually is just another form of Hell trying to chew them up and swallow them down with copious amounts of water. I dont find that the case with Stinger products and especially these energy chews. Way better than Clif blocks and anything is better than trying to swallow down a shot of energy gel. Unless you are Rod Stewart. I don't see how anyone can enjoy that.

These energy chews are fantastic.

truly amazing

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Love these. It is hard to assess my "familiarity" with them, in that I don't know if I've put them through the ringer but I have DEFINITELY put them through my digestive tract.
Addicted to them and, so far, I've not found a flavor I don't love. I have only 2 issues with them:
1) my 5 year old is also addicted to them, which means less for me
2) I like the clifblok packaging better for eating when biking.
Of all cycling/skiing snacks, these (and clifbloks) are my favorites....

How do these hold up in the heat? Do they get sticky in the package, thus getting hands sticky? How about during winter activities, how solid/hard do they get?

Responded on

Hey Jetguat.

I left these in my Camelbak in my car when it was 101 here in Utah, thus it was easily over 110 degrees inside my black Subaru. While a tiny but sticky/greasy to the touch, the chews held their shape and didn't create a mess.

They are kind of strange to eat when they are this warm, but it wasn't a deal breaker for me.

No issues eating these in the winter when ski touring either.

What's not to love?

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Honey Stinger does not disappoint when it comes to their take on the "energy-chew" I have yet to have a flavor that I didn't love. These remind me of the fruit snacks from my childhood, except these are organic, provide clean energy, and are more satisfying. Honey Stinger is the greatest.

My energy gel of choice, hands down.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Like most, I've tried most of the gels out there. I definitely prefer the 'bite' of these... not too soft, not too firm. And the flavors actually come close to what it says on the package. Of course, the real proof is whether they provide the needed energy boosts... zero complaints there.

Magic emergency stuff!!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have use Honey Stinger Organic Energy Chews during my three days backpacking trip. There were three cases of heat stroke. Guys have felt very exhausted and helpless. I have suggested to take Energy Chews and provided them with packs. All of them have noticed that stamina has increased roughly in 15 min after intakes. Ordered more Energy Chews for planned mountaineering week in June.

Tasty

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are great on the trails. The taste and consistency is like candy gummies, and I find myself looking forward to rest stops for this yummy treat.

Taste like Flinstone's vitamins.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are basically like "healthy" candy, made from honey rather than processed sugar. They're really good, and, surprisingly, take the edge off hunger really well. I use them as a mid-morning snack at work, or on the trail when I start to feel tired. They really do work. The fruit smoothie ones taste like those vitamin gummies, which are delicious.

The best part about these? They aren't dry, so you don't have to guzzle half your water just to get them down when you're hiking or working out and already thirsty.

Cons: a bit expensive and there aren't a whole lot in each package.

No Stingers, No Summit!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

A stash of Honey Stingers in my pack is as vital to a climb as Gortex. They are the only summit day snack I trust! Steady energy, perfect hourly calorie intake, easy to digest at altitude, and remarkably soft and chewable when other snacks are frozen solid. I can open the glove-friendly package wearing my expedition mittens, but have been caught eating them on sunny sea-level week-days after work because they're just that yummy.

All day

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I keep these in stock. I take them to work, school, and of course anywhere that I am active. They are quick and easy and way better to eat while you're being active, it doesn't end in cotton mouth.

Goodbye to Gels

Ride your bike and eat gummies, what could be better? Easy to open and eat on the go. They taste great and keep the energy levels topped up.

fantastic

i really like these organic chews. They provide quick energy and taste great. The pink lemonade flavor is my favorite :)

These are the BOMB!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this energy chews. They taste great and dissolve easily in your mouth. I really like the Cola flavor the best but they are all good. The caffeine in there really helps open you waken up on the trail from the previous nights antics.

Honey Stinger Killing It!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Honestly, none better. I have used most every brand out there, and always go-to purchase is honey stinger. Flavors are great, caffinated options help on those rides where you feel like your legs are siding with the rebels and revolting against your all-ruling, overdetermined, and downright stubborn brain. Buy some, they taste good, its like candy for a bike ride.

Best fuel on the go!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Better than Clif Bloks, what I used most often before. Most chewable on the go, while climbing, while trail running. Won't stick to teeth like Sharkies. Mildest flavor of all of them, and still tasty.

I *like* eating these.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My favorite flavor is the fruit smoothie. They taste like grown up fruit snacks. Honey Stingers are smaller and easier to chew/dissolve than Clif Shot Bloks or Gu Chomps. I started using them for long runs, have brought them with me on day hikes, and one time when I got busy at work and didn't have snacks/lunch nearby, I ate a pouch of these. Because they are that good.

Delicious and Nutritious

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love the Honey Stinger waffles, but had never tried these until this past week. I worked them in to my training and ate them during the Xterra at Snowbasin this past weekend.
They are easy enough to open and eat while on the move and in addition to the energy boost they give, they taste great without leaving your mouth dry or you thirsty.
A great workout energy boost, something to mix up your diet between power gels.
