The Homeschool Men's Universe Jacket features the breathability that backcountry boarders crave on bootpacks. Its Continuum 3.5 layer shell is super light, super thin, and surprisingly protective in snowfall and heavy powder days. Fully taped seams enhance waterproofing by preventing a single snowflake from seeping through.
Homeschool equipped the Universe with zippers under each arm for ventilated airflow, and the Darth Wind Hater hood offers additional coverage around your cheeks. The protective powder skirt connects to Homeschool's ski pants for complete coverage, and the Deep Pow cuffs extend above your gloves. There are zippered hand and chest pockets and additional pockets specifically designed for goggles and electronics. A Recco reflector may help Recco-equipped ski patrols find you in an emergency.

This jacket is a game-changer.
Fit - If you're someone that likes a slightly longer fit to your jackets, but don't want to sacrifice the technical aspects, this is the jacket for you. As a die-hard splitboarder, I love technical shells. I've always found that the shells with the most technical fabrics had a slimmer/euro/alpinist fit, but not Homeschool. They came through with the perfect fitting shell for us snowboarders!
Fabric - the Continuum 3.5L shell is incredibly breathable and light...perhaps insanely breathable is more like it. Just throw on a thin base layer, put the shell on, put down the pit zips and you're ready to just crank uphill on the skin track.
Hood - I'll admit I was a little skeptical about the hood at first. However, when you're on those ridge tops and getting pounded by wind, it's great to be able to throw the hood up and get more face protection without stopping and pulling out a balaclava/neck gaiter from your pack.
PS - the Spectre color is so rad! The first day I wore it I had 5 people ask me what brand the jacket was.
Finally the perfect jacket

It's taken me a few years to fit a well fitting snowboarding jacket and I've finally found it. It's just long enough but not too long. It's an athletic fit so not too baggy, either. All around perfect.
