My Second Pair
I had a broken toe. These were the only shoes I could wear

Not at all like earlier speedgoat versions
I had a love/hate relationship with the earlier speedgoats. They felt way too stiff and bulky out of the box, and took awhile to break in. Once broken in, they were great though. They gave me that extra Hoka cushioning. I've never been a fun of ultra cushioned shoes, but as I age and acquire new injuries, I appreciate it, especially on days I feel beat up. The new speedgoat is an awesome shoe, but honestly is so different than the earlier ones, that it should be a different model altogether. It is noticeably lighter and runnable out of the box. Zero break in period was needed. However, it seems the Hoka team accomplished this by taking away its ruggedness. That's a tradeoff I wasn't hoping for. This new version feels more like a road shoe with upgraded traction, something needed in a good shoe lineup, just not what I thought I was buying. Especially considering on one of my first runs with them, a locust thorn came right up through the footbed and into my foot! In my 20 years of ultras, triathlon, and many podium finishes, I have never had that happen. Without the thorn incident, I would have given 4 stars. Seriously Hoka, please put a little more trail ruggedness back into this shoe. You were headed in a good direction with this, but went a bit too far. The heel tab is also not suited to trail running. The previous version was far superior. On a positive note, I like the elimination of the plastic overlays on the upper. They had a tendency to crack well before the useful life of the shoe was up.

Hoka Speedgoat 5 are the best trainers ever
I am hooked on Hoka Speedgoat. Started on 3, then 4, now 5. I purchase these every 4-5 months. The cushioning is exceptional, the fit is perfect for my narrow ish feet, there no huge space between the sides of my feet and the sides of the show, I can move around comfortably, they are so stylish, I receive compliments all the time on them. The colour choices are unreal. The design is fantastic, the grip lasts pretty well and for the first time ever in my life, I don't have to worry about any pain breaking them in, they are super comfortable. Love them.

Great Shoes
Versatile shoe. I love these for walking on paved trails and for hiking in the mountains. This is my fourth pair of the Speedgoat shoe. They wear well and remain comfortable throughout the day.

Heel cup slipping
There's a lot to love about this shoe. It's lightweight and the sole is grippy and supportive. Unfortunately I have to return due to the heel slipping. I haven't experienced this with other Hokas. It does fit true to my usual 8.5 width size.

The best shoe
This is my favorite Hoka! I love the feel of the cushy foot support. I used to wear them only for hiking but now I have several pairs and I use them for everything -casual, hiking, yard work, you name it. Be good to your feet and get a pair!

Best shoes are getting even better
I just got my third pair Speedgoat since April 2021. It's obvious that 5 is very well crafted. I love the details including the shortened tongue. It's lighter and fit like gloves. It's incredibly comfortable with the wonderful springy energy that can last 800 miles of annual walking for me (120 lbs) - each of my previous 2 pairs lasted about 800 miles. It's hard to choose 1 "best for": it's best for walk, trail walking and hiking. If you ever walk on dirt roads, especially hilly ones, Speedgoat is the best. It has very good gripping power and it's light so I can hike for a long distance without feeling any aches. It's my go-to all-purpose.

They're great!
The shoes are very well crafted. The comfort level is amazing! However , in my case, they run big. I originally ordered my size and then had to return for a half size smaller. With that being said, the return/exchange process is fabulous.
