Hoka OneOne is the sweetest ride available for Trail Running, I've trail run for the past 17 years and Hoka is a game changer! I assist Karl Meltzer directing the Speedgoat 50k and last year over a 1/3 of the runners were trekking through Snowbird's snarly terrain in the Hokas.. Always wanted a soft ride like the old Montrail Vitesse...:)

I like Hokas, but a few notes about this shoe, the Mafate WP. The advertised weight isn't right. The Mafate may weight 320, but the WP version adds some weight, like 100 grams per shoe. Also, I think the WP liner makes the heel cup a bit shallower. As a result, I get more heel lift in this shoe than the other versions. They are waterproof though.

Love the way the shoes feel running on trail. The only problem I had with these shoes is that the "red" midsole was more like a PINK! Needless to say I spay painted the "red" EVA black to make a look less girly. Great shoes... but fugly as hell.
