Sure, they might look a little funny at first, but the oversized midsole on the Hoka One One Women's Bondi B. Road Run Shoe makes it seem as if you're running on air while still providing you with support, stability, and performance. The Bondi's unique cushioning system helps disperse up to 80-percent of impact forces to give you a smoother, gentler feel with every stride.

  • Ultra-cushy EVA midsole is 30-percent softer and 2.5-times thicker than a typical trail running shoe for unparalleled shock-absorption and greater confidence running downhill
  • Bathtub design sinks your heel into the midsole for added stability and performance
  • Lightweight construction, 40mm high sole design, and a 13cm rockered toe profile provide you with more fluid and natural stride transitions
  • A heel compression of up to 20mm boosts confidence when running downhill
  • More surface area and rubber lugs provide you with excellent traction on slippery or sketchy terrain
  • Several reviews indicate that this shoe runs about a half-size smaller than the typical running shoe, so you may want to consider sizing up

Road and Not-too-technical Trail shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I wear a 6 in most of my running shoes and took a 6 in these. I wear these on roads for recovery runs and I've worn them on packed dirt/rocky trail surfaces. Sure they look like mall walker shoes, but after bombing down 1000 feet over 2 miles, my quads aren't trashed.

great road shoes

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

been running in these shoes for several months now. previously ran in asics gel nimbus. my observations:

1. sizing: i wear 10wide in asics, i find the length comparable (i.e. 10 in bondi) but the nimbuses are a tad wider in the forefoot. i have a morton's neuroma so i'm pretty sensitive to the width. these are barely wide enough, i skip the holes closest to the toes (unlaced).

2. the 'ride': unbelievable. they feel very lightweight and natural.

3. cushioning: also unbelievable. i prefer trails and asphalt, but in summer i end up on the concrete sidewalks bc i run w. my 4 mutts. and i feel it. the bondi's are unparalleled for shock absorption.

3. toughness: hard to say. noticed a pretty rapid wear on the's made of the same foam as the midsole, not rubberized like the stinson or the mafate. hoka says just keep running, people are getting 1000 mi with these babies, so we'll see. but if you're running trails that are any more than smooth i'd go w. the stinsons or the mafates.

i'd give them 5 exc for the longevity concern.

Awesome shoes after barefoot disaster!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was running up to 6 miles/d with barefoot running shoes and developed synovitis and then erosion of the cartilage on my second metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint, and after two surgeries including a joint replacement, I've been able to get back to running with these shoes. Cushiony, but not too much. Just wonderful.

Great Running Shoe!!!

I am a fairly casual runner who does about 30 miles or so a week & these shoes are awesome! I actually did the research & asked the sizing questions BEFORE ordering this shoe and have nothing but good things to say about them. There was literally NO breaking in period & they don't rub on the sides of my foot the way my NIKE Pegasus have always done.
They are great for road & off road running, although most of what I do tends to be road running. If I were heavily into trail running, I might go with the HOKA Stinson Evo....

    Hoka Bondi B's

Do not size up, these run true to size (maybe even a little on the larger size) now. I heard last year's were small and to size up but I did that and these are huge. I never got to run in them and now backcountry is out of them, so I can't exchange them. Said they won't get any until OCTOBER (6 months, really?)-too bad I listened to the recommendations. Can't give a fair rating 'cuz I never tested them.
