The mix-and-match sole greedily grabs hold of sidewalks and dirt paths, while the proprietary midsole cushions your footsteps regardless of what surface you trod. Updated for 2014, the reworked Bondi 3 still gives you cushioned comfort in the form of mega-padding in the midsole without adding a millimeter to the 4mm heel-forefoot drop.
Air mesh on top lets your little piggies feel some fresh air without exposing your digits to the dangers of the trail (or the road). No-sew construction takes away seams that rub your foot the wrong way. When one hand holds a cup of coffee, the other hand can be battening down the hatches—laces— with the simple Race-Lace system. Once your foot is firmly in place, your midfoot-favoring gait gets to coast on pillowy softness while being more efficient. Up to 30% softer than the usual EVA midsole, proprietary HIP compression-molded EVA runs from the tip of your toes to the back of your heel. That, combined with the Early Stage Meta-Rocker, means your running motion gets economized and your footstrikes feel softer.
Should you nail a muddy puddle or try a tri and emerge from the water soaking wet, the water drainage system helps the Bondi 3 dry in a flash. The Full Ground Contact sole design puts the rubber to the road to protect your paw and serve up a bit of stability for a smooth run. The sole blends lightweight, high-abrasion rubber with carbon rubber so you can hop between dirt trails and concrete sidewalks with ease.
