Here's what others have to say...

Perfect weight, just OK rain protection

Perfect weight, just OK rain protection

This jacket is very comfortable and packs well into a jersey pocket, but is only effective in light rain (good for a light windbreaker too though!). Better for casual use as it kind of pops up on the shoulders and makes you a bit of a sail in a headwind (see picture)

Great so far

I've only had a chance to use the jacket a couple times now but overall it seems good so far. Fit is definitely slimmer, I'm 5'11 and 125 lbs and a small fits me perfectly. I've used it as a wind jacket over a short sleeve wool jersey in 52 degree weather and was comfortably warm. I also used it in a light rain storm but nothing near downpour to test the actual water proofness of the material. The jacket is very lightweight and packs down small into one pocket on a jersey which is nice. Zipper works both ways so you can vent from the bottom.

The only gripe I have, and it's partially my fault, is the wrists fit large on me so a headwind tends to get up in the jacket and fills the jacket behind my shoulders. Some vents would probably solve the problem.

Great rain/wind jacket!

After spending the last month researching rain/wind jackets, I honed in on the Hincapie Elemental jacket. I'm 6'3"/200 lbs and the XL fit is spot on. The jacket is not baggy and I do not foresee parts of the jacket "flapping in the wind" going down hill or in cross winds. I really like the high collar on this jacket and the sealed pocket on the back is a nice bonus. The material is of very high quality and will hold up very well to use and abuse. I plan on using this jacket for cooler fall/spring rides and to keep in my jersey pocket during those summer rides when you might get stuck out in a storm. This jacket is VERY lightweight and VERY compressible. I've been extremely happy with the many Hincapie cycling items I own and this jacket was a great addition. I think anyone would be happy with purchasing the Elemental jacket. I went with the black jacket with red stitching, with IMO looks pretty sweet.
