Stay warm out there.

Hincapie knows how attached you've become to your everyday bib shorts, which is why it developed the Arenberg Tights without a chamois. Now you're able to layer over your bibs when the temperatures drop, giving you the ultimate combination of light insulation along with your familiar chamois of choice. No compromises in the name of cool- and cold-weather riding.

Hincapie made the Arenberg tights from the plush and stretchy BodE Thermal Loft fabric in order to provide both comfort and warmth. This material delivers a soft inner-lining that utilizes high-loft, fleece fibers to accelerate moisture evaporation. The lining assists in wicking moisture to the quick-drying surface. And not only does the fabric work to keep you dry, but the breathable design also maintains a consistent, insulated temperature for warmth. In fact, Thermal Loft employs one of the heaviest knit structures in the Hincapie lineup in order to ensure heat retention. However, this is complemented by the outer-layer's Lycra and nylon-blended makeup. Accordingly, the tights effectively wick away moisture to keep you riding dry and at a consistent internal temperature.

The Arenberg tights have a malleable, four-way stretch construction that conforms to the contours of your body. Finishing details include auto-locking zippered leg openings, an elastic draw cord at the waist, and reflective treatments for increased visibility to motorists in low-light riding conditions.

The Hincapie Arenberg Tights are available in the color Black and in five sizes from Small to XX-Large.

Here's what others have to say...

They're quite nice

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are a good piece of cycling wear to have for high-30's to mid 50's temps (I get cold easily). They are substantial in weight, a transitional-season piece (for New England).

FIT: I'm 5'11", 32" waist, 33" inseam, 158lbs. The MED fit me great.

Fantastic over-tights with no chamois

Application: Cold weather tights to fit over those expensive bib shorts you already own (and love). Best for 38-50* days.

By the way, "Arenberg" refers to one of the most famous sections of the often cold and wet Paris-Roubaix bike race.

Function/features: These Arenberg tights are made from a thick, stretch Lycra material with a fleeced interior. These are not "light" tights. These are warm. These tights also have a 9 inch zippered leg opening, a really great (red) waist draw cord for secure fit at the waist, and other nice design details. The gear is designed by George Hincapie - a pro rider and legend who rode in the TdF 17 times (and 7 top-ten finishes at Paris-Roubaix). It shows.

Quality of manufacture: The sewing and seams on these Arenberg tights are perfect. I have found uniformly excellent quality and QC in all the Hincapie gear that I own. Bravo to George Hincapie (and his brother Richard) who run this company.

FIT: I am 5'10 and 185. I bought the size L. They fit perfectly. I think the L tights will fit riders 5'9 to 6'2".

What's the inseam on the size large?
