Good for the Price

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Alti,GPS, HRM, and more for under 120$ on sale!

It may not be as nice as some of its competitors but it blows them away in cost. I haven't had any issues mentioned below with the battery or HRM working intermittently. So far all is good. The alti is bang on accurate, the GPS leaves something to be desired but works nonetheless, and IMO the HRM works better than most others I have tried. The battery lasts approx 8hours while in GPS mode. If you want a watch which does everything without breaking the bank get this!

Also the interface for the software you can download from Highgear's website is okay but not great

Heart rate monitor doesn't work well

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

Nice training watch but I have had two different XT7's and I have had the same problem with the HR monitor working intermittently. I have emailed the company twice and have not received a reply yet. I can't recommend it at this time.

XT7 Error 3704 - Software is buggy

The software with which to upload run data to your compu won't allow me to do anything. Literally clicking on any link upon opening - both when watch is connected and not - issues this error 3704.

It's a shame, because my experience with the watch, now 8 days and 4 workouts, is really pretty good so far. It's a bit clunky that you have to Mode thru all 10 modes unidirectional. GPS locating satellites takes quite a bit of time as well, but those are the only issues. The watch is quite good other than the buggy software.

If I can't get the software to work, or if they don't resolve it, I will return the watch.

here could be an issue with the drivers.

    I would try the following:

Go to the Start menu, then Run. Type ?devmgmt.msc? to bring up the device manager.

There should be a USB device beside a yellow question mark somewhere on this list.

Below is a sample screenshot that could give you an idea of what the yellow missing driver question marks look like. Note that the example below is a stock image, and that the missing drivers for the NB watch will be named differently than the examples. ?USB? will be in the title.

Right-click on the missing device and ?update driver.?

Hit ?search automatically? and Windows should successfully install the driver and enable your watch to synchronize.

The yellow question marks should disappear.

Where can I find the advertised 'cardinal...

Where can I find the advertised 'cardinal north indicator'?

    Hi Mike,

Boy, I went though the manual thoroughly, and I can't find it either. So, you're not alone. The best thing to do at this point is to call them and have them walk you through it. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but it's just not anywhere to be easily all.

Hey Mike. I saw the cardinal north indicator also advertised on this watch on the Highgear website. At first I thought it must be some incorrect information we had listed, but Highgear claims that this feature is included on the watch. Just as Phil said, there is no mention of the cardinal north indicator in the manual for this product. I wonder if they've made a mistake...or forgotten to include this info in their manual.
