FR Twin-Tip Ski

As epic orchestra music plays in the background, the High Society FR Twin-Tip Ski carries you forth like a Viking war ship. The underfoot girth floats pow with authority, and the warrior sidecut assaults enemy settlements and frontside runs without mercy. Tri-axel fiberglass weaves encase the full wood core, giving the FR Twin unstoppable torsional strength and edge hold, and thin rubber strips dampen the ride to eliminate chatter without compromising flex. High Society developed a special resin and fiberglass blend that bonds your bindings to your boards for intense response and energy transfer.

Bottom Line: Pillage and plunder.

187's

I don't know what quiver means, but these will be my only quiver until they die. Took them out on packed powder at A-Basin last weekend and they absolutely ripped. Easiest turning ski I've ever used. Can't imagine what they will do in powder. Won't find a better ski for the price.

Does anyone recomment a good binding for this ski? I like all

Does anyone recomment a good binding for this ski? I like all mountain but on sunny days love the groomers and to throw down in the park and I'm no expert on bindings

Look PX12s are very good/popular bindings and can be found at reasonable prices. If you need a higher DIN check out the PX14. I'm using Look PX12 Jib bindings with my 179 FRs and LOVE them. The jib binding sits a little lower than a typical binding and have a cushioned pad. Also, make sure the ski brakes on the bindings are wide enough!!! (I'm using a 100mm wide brake on my 179s, which have a 92mm waist.) Hope this helps. :)

These skis go everywhere and no one has them. I live in the east but get out west as much as possible. They do it all. No complaints on either side. I have never seen another pair in the line and people are always looking.

Skied on the 179's 4 days, on the 3rd day though my front

Skied on the 179's 4 days, on the 3rd day though my front end of the binding ripped right out of the wood core... tried some helicoils as a fix but just got home from skiing to the base on only one ski. Anyone had similar issues? Yes, they were mounted by a tech that has mounted other ski's for me with no problems....

Had multiple pairs of High Society's, including 187's from this model year and haven't seen this happen. My tech mounted with a 3.5 bit because there's no metal in these skis. I go out to Colorado all the time and ride these really hard. I also know a few guys on the team who absolutely abuse their stuff and they have no issues. I heard they are working on a neew rockered version.

Lovin my 179's

By:

Picked up a pair of 179's a few weeks ago and had them center mounted with Rossignol SAS 120's. I have only been out 1 day so far on them, but I absolutely love them. Carving wasn't an issue at all and I was having fun just spinning circles down the hill. They felt nice and balanced in the air, very smooth and confidence inspiring. I have not heard of the tear out issue mentioned below, but I do know a few people who have been riding HS pretty hard for a couple years without issue. I definitely suggest these for park, pipe, or your general freeride needs.

Love life and ride free

79's are dope

Basically these skis are unbeatable for the quality, price, and the ride. I heard about HS two years ago from a buddy and finally stepped up to a pair last season. I ski the whole mountain and these skis are perfect for those all-around days. They're sick in the park, but also good in the trees and bumps. If you need one ski to handle all conditions, then I would highly recommend the FR's.
Also, I don't have the 87's but my bro does and he says they kill it on big pow days. Saving up for those right now . . .

I just demo'd the 187's in all kinds of powder conditions, including some wind pack, and I second that opinion. Went ahead and bought the demos. These skis float nicely, smooth out the tracked stuff and turn on a dime in the trees. Long GS turns on the groomers, easy to lock into a carve, feel nice and stable at mach 10. I'd want my narrower skis for hard pack or icy conditions, but these seem like they would handle that OK too.

These are my "go to" sticks.

Ever find yourself at a new mtn and not sure which skis to pull out of the quiver. End that issue get these skis. I'm the proud owner of two pair, my old 179's are in great shape and make great tele skis and my new pair are skis I ride most days of the season. They are good on every part of the mtn.
