Big winter storms bury the racecourse. When it does World Cup skier Anja Parson doesn't just sit inside, she slips on her Hestra Anja Parson Pro Mitt and skis powder like the rest of us. She hails from snowy Sweden and has come to trust handmade Hestra leather gloves, even when she's freeriding on her own time.

  • Softer aniline cowhide leather remains durable with a easy-to-grab feel
  • The toasty mitt design with Fiberfill and polyester insulation holds in her hand's heat despite the arctic cold
  • A Bemberg and polyester lining dries quickly and wicks moisture to prevent clamminess if the sun comes out
  • The Neoprene cuff and hook-and-loop strap ensure no snow gets inside when it piles up in feet
  • External palm seams enhance grip to secure ski pole plants in sketchy terrain or while skating over the flats

5 Star Mittens

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Hestra makes the best mittens and gloves around, once you've put on a pair you wouldn't disagree. The leather is supple, durable, and they've perfected the contoured fit. These mittens are right on par. The Anja Parsson mittens are so dang comfortable, they're like glass slippers for your hands. For example, I let a pro-skier girlfriend borrow my pair when she forgot her gloves and she hasn't given them back.

These mittens are a lighter weight mitten, so if you like having mittens but don't need the burliest one Hestra makes I'd choose these. Otherwise, I would recommend the Henrik Windstedt mittens (which you can find in the men's section, no worries, the gloves/mittens are unisex and have more feminine colors if you like). The mittens also hold up really well when you're storm skiing, touring all day, or in wetter snow conditions.

These mittens fit true to size.
