yeah, it'll work great, the gulf is not so rough so 14 feet is as long as you need, and the stern cargo fits a bait cooler nicely. Heritage boats are also easy to mount rod holders onto.

Yes. I'm 6'4" 240lbs and have some issues in everything from Heritage. They're not bad just designed a little too narrow through the thigh area.

Redfish sit on tops are entry level boats that are easy to paddle and track well. To increase maneurvabltiy, add the rudder kit. These boats have a lot of capacity per their size, 10, 12, and 14 feet. Small for kids and those under 150 lbs. The Redfish 12 is best for those from 150 to 190. The Redfish 14 is the biggest, the fasest and can carry a big paddler and fishing gear too.

Write your answer here...at 72 lbs, it's a little on the heavy side but not so bad that I would give up the stability and cockpit roominess. It's a perfect fit for my 5'10" 200 lb. body. I carry it on a kayak trailer, making it fairly easy to load and unload and use a fat wheeled cart to get it to the water. No cart - you will want a buddy. It's easly rigged for fishing due to accessable hatches for mounting rod, holders, anchor trolly's, fish finders, etc. Great boat..

great kayak...i strap mine to the roof of my monte carlo with 2 foam blocks and straps. my back never feels better than after paddling and fishing for a few hours
