Thanks to a padded seat, the Heritage Kayaks RedFish 14 Kayak actually keeps you comfy instead of torturing your back and butt. The RedFish 14-foot Kayak's stern tank holds a cooler, while the bow hatch keeps your guidebook or snacks within reach. Pack your lunch, stash your camera and sunscreen in your drybag, and haul your RedFish down to the lake.

IS THIS GOOD FOR A 1ST TIMER? AND I DO HAVE A BAD BACK? WHAT KIND OF ROOF RACK WOULD I USE?

Write your answer here...at 72 lbs, it's a little on the heavy side but not so bad that I would give up the stability and cockpit roominess. It's a perfect fit for my 5'10" 200 lb. body. I carry it on a kayak trailer, making it fairly easy to load and unload and use a fat wheeled cart to get it to the water. No cart - you will want a buddy. It's easly rigged for fishing due to accessable hatches for mounting rod, holders, anchor trolly's, fish finders, etc. Great boat..
