Two people on one pair of skis probably isn't the best idea in the world. Two people in the Heritage Kayaks FeatherLite 14 Tandem Kayak, however, is a downright dandy idea. Thanks to a molded skeg, the FeatherLite fourteen-foot Tandem Kayak tracks well, so you and your paddling partner don't end up constantly zigzagging instead of going straight. Two separate cockpits with cushioned seats and adjustable foot braces give both paddlers the comfort they deserve. The FeatherLite's rugged polyethylene construction adds durability while keeping this kayak's weight manageable.
Bottom Line: Some tandem kayaks handle like an aircraft carrier. Some handle like an actual kayak. The Heritage Kayaks FeatherLite 14 Kayak is one of the latter.

There is no sales tax when shipped to CA. Sales tax is only for orders shipped to UT.
As for entry level paddles, I really like Werner paddles. They enter the water very smooth and stable, and are typically lighter and more adjustable than their competitors. They are a bit more expensive, but I think it's money well spent. Below are links to a Werner paddle and an Aqua Bound. If you can't afford the extra for the Werner, the Aqua Bound is a good alternative.

Me (I'm 6' tall and 235 pounds) my two kids (2 yrs, 4 yrs old) and my wife all fit comfortably at the same time. It's light enough load pretty easy (70 pounds). It steers like a battleship with all of us in it, but with some practice it's a joy. I'm very pleased with it, No real complaints.
I'm 6'4" tall. Would this kayak be comfortable

Nope, sales tax only applies to UT residents. Since BC is based out of UT.
