Helly Hansen Verglas ProPile Fleece Jacket - Men's - 2009 BCS

This is my favorite coat. It is not waterproof or resistant even, and it let's wind through like a screen door, but it is warm! It looks rad, forces everyone to come up and pet it, and I usually end up without it because someone else is dying to try it on.

This high pile H/H fleece is definitely the warmest layer I have ever owned. I loved the idea of a hooded fleece, but the hood on this jacket didn't fit comfortably. It rode back on my head as though it were cut too small, though it was probably a result of the thickness of the fabric. I ended up just wearing it down all the time. a bit annoying to layer with also.This jacket is definitely a close fitting piece, which was a plus when i was using it with my shell for skiing. I found that the fleece seemed to pack down quickly though in places like the elbows, shoulder straps, and around the bottom rim of the jacket.Overall i would say that this jacket meets the grade with regard to keeping you warm, but if you are real active and tend to abuse your equipment a bit, this thing is a little fragile. I ended up returning it to get something more durable for the coming ski season (hopefully seasons).

I got the large size of this jacket but it was way to small in the shoulder area. I am 5-10 at 210 lbs and fairly built. Everything else fit well sleeve length waist ect. The jacket is defiantly more of a active cut than casual.

super soft and warm, almost luxurious. with the hood up one looks like a bear or cat w/o ears.

due to the fur on the inside of the arms this jacket is best worn with a t-shirt or no shirt at all. even w/o a shirt it still feels as if you're wearing a base-layer. i find the item almost too warm for physical activity and hate to think about sweating in such a nice piece. its perfect for around the house or town and when it gets too cold thrown on a down vest and you're set.

fit is trim so consider a size up from your regular american sizing. great cut, waist and sleeve length are perfect. probably the best looking, warmest and best fitting 'fleece' i've purchased. no low-waisted short sleeved goofiness here...
