Short or Long Runs

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size
  • Height: 6'5"

I've been using these shorts a ton on runs around the neighborhood or for big runs with lots of vert in the mountains. Light and non-restricing.

Short or Long Runs

Perfect for trail races

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I'll move back and forth between my HH shorts for running but when it's race day, these are my go-to. They're lightweight and sleek looking, and keep the thighs from chafing, even over long distances.

As the previous reviewer wrote, especially in hot conditions these shorts shine, keeping you cool and not getting heavy with sweat. I can run comfortably in them while in the Pacific Northwest, and transfer easily to visit family in Texas and have the same positive results.

And, they look great!

Best Shorts Ever

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

I'm about 6' tall, 185 lbs, and run about 20 miles per week. I was looking for a cool pair of shorts as a run in a hot and humid environment. I usually run with longer shorts, but switched to a 5 inch inseam to reduce swamp butt. I was not familiar with the Helly Hansen brand, but I'm sold.

1) Great build quality. You can tell these shorts were made well. Great fit and finish.
2) They look great. I don't mean to sound petty, but I chose these shorts because they looked good. And they look good on, not only the style, but they look like they fit well.
3) Great fit all the way around. The liner fits great and breathes well. The fit is not too tight and too baggy, its just right. The split and fit give you great range of movement.
4) Very cool. The material breathes well, the liner breathes well, and the shorts stay dry even at 90 degrees and 80% humidity.

No cons. The are the best shorts I've ever owned. I've owned Nike, North Face, Brooks, Adidas, and New Balance. I've been running for over 20 years. These are the best shorts ever. Very impressed. And, they are Bluesign to boot, so you buy a product that was made in an environmentally conscious manner. I just bought a pair of North Face Better Than Naked shorts. They're good, but if these are clean, I'm wearing my Helly Hansens.
