going up one size is mandatory unless you're going to wear the vest only over a shirt, fits snuggly and whatever is underneath needs to as well. The radio pocket is only little walkie talkie sized and no good for icom, VHF or any surface to air radios that are useful outside the resort. Kind of a novelty piece

The concept of this jacket is well conceived. The execution of this concept is fatally flawed. Great, a nice tech jacket with lots of pockets that can be worn over a shirt, under a shell, whatever! The fabric is breathable....great. The problem is that on each of the pockets that have a see-through liner, any moisture from your body goes through the inside layer of the jacket and condenses inside the pocket. Anything in the pocket (ipod, phone, any electronics, anything paper) gets totally soaked. How could they sell this thing for $200 with a straight face? Do these people not test their products before they send them out to market? This is a deal-breaker for me and it should be for you too.

cut on the small side, it is a good vest but not the best i've had, which, considering the price, is a little disappointing. Pockets are okay but not easy to open and close, esp with gloves. Helly Hansen letteringis very large and you become a hiking billboard.

i've been with Helly Hansen since June, and this vest was top on my list for new gear. I wear it when i'm b.a.s.e jumping in remote locations. I'm able to fit in all my safety gear, water, radio, etc.. and have plenty of room to strap on my rig. All the pockets have a different use, and perfectly fit my safety gear. its got a contour fit and is an essential piece of gear for b.a.s.e, BC skiing, and anything else that requires a low profile tactical vest that will fit under your top layer.
