When blowing snow and bone-chilling temperatures can’t keep you cooped up in the house, pull on the Helly Hansen Men’s Granite Jacket, and enjoy a comforting combination of waterproof protection and cozy warmth when you head out to enjoy the day. The tough Helly Tech XP shell blocks foul weather, while the Thinsulate synthetic insulation retains warmth even when it gets wet. The mesh lining slides easily over your layers, and the Granite Jacket can be connected to your winter pants to create a snow-proof seal. Stretch panels at critical points help provide flexibility when skiing or snowshoeing, and the full Underarm zips help you regulate when you’re overheating.
This jacket took me through wet midwest snowfalls with ease, Tree skiing in Steamboat and many scenarios in between. It has never been too warm, but has kept me toasty in the teens with just a baselayer and a T-shirt. I got the dusty green color which isn't available anymore but it looks fantastic. The fit is a little baggy for my tastes, but looks great regardless. The zippers appear to be watertight, which makes them harder to open and can be a pain when your fingers are cold. the hood is a little on the large side if your not wearing a helmet, but I always wear a brain bucket so it doesn't matter. I have been flying down runs (As at Wilmot you don't exactly need to control your speed) and have not felt a wisp of wind. Bottom line, Great jacket for skiing, riding. Will handle all old man winter can throw at you.
This is a great jacket for any type of skiing or snowboarding. I wore it hiking in on Teton Pass in February and riding at Mt. Hood in June and July. Hands down, it's a quiver within itself. The colors are ballin' too.

got jammed in the trees and hit the base of a hard, short branch root with my shoulder which left a scar. the jacket was left unscathed. thought for sure there would be a hole but nada.
one of the toughest soft-shells i've had the pleasure of wearing. works best with a good base and mid-layer as the Thinsulate is warm but not down warm. fits well and compared to most other jackets has a nice style without being too steezy.
This is hand's down the most pimp Helly jacket I have ever seen (although you could definitely make an argument for the Odin Mountain Jacket as well)! The style is fresh, the colors are poppin' and spot on and the tech is sick! With Helly's Tech XP this piece boasts excellent water and wind proof technology. Diggin' it hard!
I got a steal from amazon right before I left for SLC and it passed the recent snowstorm with flying colors... I've "collected" several jackets over the past few years trying to find the best and they have been all but disappointment: either too heavy, too cold, or too sweaty... This one is a keeper! All the pockets are functional, jacket does not look baggy (I got Medium and I'm 165lb, athletic build, 5'8").
As you may know, MSP's new movie "Claim" showcases the Aqua Dome color heavily in the film. Unfortunately, this color is not available for Fall/Winter 2008. It will become available as of Spring 2009 if I am not mistaken. So to answer your question, you cannot get the Aqua Dome color way at this time even though it is on the Helly Hansen website.
Best ski jacket i've ever worn. Its light, extremely warm, waterproof, windproof, its got it all. Best of all it looks AMAZING. This jacket will have no problems with 60+ ski days this year
I have been a helly hansen athlete for 2 years now. This is the best jacket for backcountry. staying dry and comfortable in the elements is important. This jacket does it all.
