Vent your steam so you can keep surging on.
Helly Hansen has been perfecting its baselayer technology for the last forty years and testing it in the harshest conditions, which means that the company has gotten very good at pushing the limits of fabric technology. The Lifa Stay Dry fabric in the Men's Dry Charger 1/2-Zip Top wicks moisture at a very fast rate to optimally regulate body temperature and keep you drier. Mesh construction in the back also contributes to rapid ventilation, as does the front zipper that allows you to manage airflow, zipping down and letting more air in as you heat up or zipping up when the chills creep in. Thumbholes at the cuffs keep hands warm and all-around flatlock stitching lays comfortably against the skin. For the perfect versatile layer when you need something lightweight but just insulating enough, the Dry Charger 1/2-Zip Top will keep you comfortable and charging on.
- Lightweight and quick-drying Lifa Stay Dry polypropylene fabric

Light as a feather
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share
- Fit: Runs small
I gave this to my brother as a Christmas gift as he asked me for a lightweight base layer. I couldn't have picked a better one weight wise. He has only used a few times during this winter season but says he can't wait for spring temperatures to roll around to wear on runs and on his bike rides. Helly Hansen seems to run just slightly smaller than usual, so if you normally wear a medium, I have found that if you don't want it to be skin tight then you might want to size up. Otherwise he loves the base layer, it wicks sweat well, is incredibly light, and the 1/2 zip top makes certain that you won't ever be overheated. Best use is for outdoor wear in the spring and summer. Buy and enjoy this wonderfully crafted base layer, you won't be disappointed.
Good for Fall weather
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
If you're like me, you've got exercise apparel for each season and activity, and you look forward to pulling out each piece in turn as the weather changes. For me, Fall weather means the Freeze 1/2 zip and the Charger 1/2 zip (depending on temperatures). For slightly warmer days, between 45 and 60 degrees F I turn to the Charger 1/2 zip. It's lightweight and fits easily over a t-shirt so I can wear it at the beginning of a run, and it doesn't trap moisture for when I start sweating. It also has a shorter neck so even when it's zipped full, it doesn't make me feel overheated like I'm wearing a turtleneck in summer. Good stuff.
