The Helly Hansen Men’s ¾ Pants stop above your calves, so you don’t have another layer in your already-tight ski boots. These Helly Hansen base layer bottoms not only provide lightweight insulation, they also wick perspiration, so you can charge hard on the mountain or in the backcountry and not feel clammy. Flat stitching reduces chafing and flex panels let you move freely.

Bottom Line: Free your calves.

I like these pants.

What a relief not to have to layer socks and full length pants. I'm 6'3" with a 42" waist, and xxl was the way to go. Panels around knees felt good. I did discover that full length ski pants helped hold my socks up; be careful about combining 3/4 length with "quitters", your socks need to support their own weight!

The Perfect Length

By:

The 3/4 pant is just long enough to keep your upper-shin and above covered and warm. The pant doesn't get down into your boots which saves your shin for any discomfort caused by full-length long underwear. With the 3/4 pant you don't sacrifice any warmth either. I'm equally warm as I would be with full-length long underwear, but I'm far more comfortable. 3/4 length is where it's at!

HIGHLY Recommend

I may have to buy another pair of these because THEY ROCK! I don't have any problems with the calf being too tight, I normally wear a 32x32 and the medium fit me like a pair of baselayer tights should!

Best baselayer pants - Hands down

By:
September 12, 2010

I've used quite a few different base layers over the years growing up back east. Now living in Jackson, WY for a few seasons I've come to appreciate a good base layer in so many different conditions inbounds and out. HH dry with lifa technology is an outstanding fabric. Keeping you warm when you need it and wicks moisture when your setting a bootpack. The 3/4 length is one of the best features with no bunching in the boot. Helly Hansen products always are great quality and last a while. If you try them once, no going back to any other brand.

These are great!

The 3/4 length is lots nicer that bunching up your full length undies. The Helly Hanson undies are very comfortable, fit well and stay dry.

Review Title

Looked good online, but fit was way too tight for my comfort. Barely got the Men's medium over my calves, stopped trying because they weren't likely to make any further intact.

Duct tape?

By:
January 4, 2009

After reading some positive reviews on 3/4-length bottoms I bought these. I've had some problems with the legs riding up or my ski socks falling down, which is less than desirable in cold weather. I would recommend either buying these a little on the big side or taping them to your socks.

Otherwise I'm obviously happy with the Euro-stylish capri look.
