Stores small, feels light, and offers huge comfort after a long day in the woods.

Set up base camp, whip out the Helinox Chair One Camp Chair, and suddenly your friends will regret their decision to sit on the ground or pull up a stump. This comfortable little chair uses a mesh seat suspended on a lightweight aluminum frame. Easy to setup and easy to break down, the Chair One Chair is ideal for car camping or even overnight backpacking trips when you want a little extra luxury around the camp fire.

    • Pole technology is the same that DAC uses in their high-end Helinox trekking poles and tent poles
    • Aluminum material makes the poles lightweight and durable enough for seasons of camping trips
    • Hub-and-pole structure keeps the poles attached at the seat joints so all you have to do is unfold the poles and position the back and seat stays to ready them for the seat cover
    • Feet have rubberized coating that keep your chair from sliding on rock or slick surfaces
    • Synthetic cover is made of mesh that's breathable and quick-drying so you can sit comfortably no matter what the weather
    • Zippered storage bag holds the folded seat cover and collapsed frame so you can save space when you're not using this chair
    • Maximum weight capacity: 320 pounds
    • Item #HEL0005

    "Worth Every Cent"

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought two of these as a gift, for my Aunt Linda. Here's what she had to say :

"The Helinox chair is lightweight, portable, compact, and strong.  It fits nicely in the carrying case which can easily be hung from the chair when not in use.  I appreciate the ease and speed of setting it up and putting it away.  This chair is the relief your body needs after backpacking, driving, or hours spent dancing at a festival.  I will enjoy this chair after many adventures.  The Helinox is worth every cent. "

    Nice and light

I got this chair to replace the heavy camp chair I was lugging on hikes -- what a great move! This chair is super light, very compact, and pretty comfortable. I would say that if you want to do some serious lounging the back isn't high enough, but if you want to be able to sit in comfort off the ground, this chair is an excellent choice.

      Pack it in!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

If you’re thinking of just sitting on a stump or rock instead of this to save a couple pounds backpacking, don’t! This is light-weight and the seat sits a grown man wider than you’d expect, with a great back-angle to lounge in after walking all day. The inner-chords that hold the skeleton frame are thick and tough too!

      Pretty Comfortable for it's size

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this chair since it says it's weight limits are considerably higher than most at 320lbs. It's fairly comfortable for it's size and seems pretty sturdy. I'll be taking it out into the backcountry so hopefully the ground will be dry enough to use it.

      No excuse to be uncomfortable

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

For the longest time I have always battled with making the decision to either pack in my big/heavy camping chairs or just find rocks/logs to set up on.

I have had this chair in my sights for a while but was pretty hesitant due to the price. I finally pulled the trigger and am SO GLAD I did. I can't believe it took me so long. They pack down nice and small and are so light you barely notice them. Obviously if you are a superlight backpacker you probably aren't looking to bring a chair but if you are like most of us you are ok with bringing a little extra gear for some comfort.

An added perk is that the bag has a little daisy chain attached on the outside so it can easily be strapped to the outside of your pack. If you are on the fence I STRONGLY recommend you go for it. You will not be upset.

One downside I noticed was that where I took it for the first time the ground was very soft. The small surface area of each leg would sink down into the soft ground. They now offer a ground mat to solve this problem.

      Okay,

I just went backpacking with my dad and his buds. They were all bringing these chairs. I really did not want to due to the extra weight but I am glad I did what everyone else did! The chair came in handy!!!! There was snow and cold ground everywhere we were.

The chair was perfect for keeping my bum warm and dry from the big rock we chilled on!

It fit on the top of my stuff in my backpack. This thing is super small and seems really durable.

      1lb of luxury

Love this chair! I've tried both the REI and Big5 versions, which are both less expensive, but fall short compared to this chair's comfort and quality. It is totally worth the price for the real deal. And IMHO worth the extra weight on backpacking trips as the first thing I do is set up my chair and kick off my shoes when we reach our destination.

        Best camp chair ever

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Every time I take this camping at least a few people ask me about it. Where did I get it? How can they get one? Yes, its a $100 camp chair, and it's worth every penny. My ONLY complaint is that it's a little tricky to fold the chair and seat back into the zipper carry bag, but once you get the hang of it it's easy and the bag is definitely big enough.

        Worth the price tag

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These things roll up into TINY bags. About 1 foot long and 6 inches in diameter so it's super easy to bring with you camping or hiking. They're comfortable, durable and compact. Not sure you can ask for more than that. I used to have the Walmart $10 chairs and while they got the job done for car camping, they quality can't compare to these and you can take these EVERYWHERE! and love the colors.

        life savor

beautiful purchase. worth the extra 2 lbs to have a comfy place to relax during a backpacking trip. only problem is everyone will steal it when you get up so call 5's.

        My Tush Says A+

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This chair is mad comfy and incredibly light! I had never seen/sat in one of these until the Helinox reps came by the other day and I sat down in one and knew I was going to buy one that instant. Burly but light poles thanks to DAC, so it should last a long while, and it seriously is just very comfortable to sit in. I doubt I'd ever take it backpacking, but for car camping/sitting in the park, this guy is a charm.

        If bee had knees...

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This chair is AWESOME!! It packs down nice and small, but has big comfort. I just got it, and after initial impressions I have decided that this thing will be attached to my hip (or buttocks) this summer. Love it!! Assuming it will be durable as well.

        Love it

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I set this chair up in my living room for a few days and so far it's held up great. It's the ideal camping chair, lightweight, small and easy to set up. It does sit low to the ground which I wasnt expecting. I cant wait to take this on my camping trips.

Literally the best camp chair ever.

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have 2 of these and absolutely love them. You can't beat the size/weight of this chair combined with the quality materials and sturdy construction. I've taken it everywhere from the beach to the backcountry and it never disappoints.

        greatest chair ever

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

everyone knows when you go backpacking into the mountains you typically wont have a comfy spot to sit near the fire because lets face it, no one wants to lug a 5lb chair with them. but with this chair the problem is solved, this chair is super easy to pack around with you. and not only is it super light, but it is so comfy to sit in and just pass the time by the fire and not hurt your butt sitting on a hard rock. so if you want to be comfortable by the fire, you know what you need to get.

        Excellent Backpack "Comfort" Option

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Really like this chair. Some friends had them and I borrowed one on a recent trip. Really saved my butt (literally) after a long day on the Ouchita Trail. Not too heavy, and it really is much more comfortable than sitting on a log or the ground. It kind of feels like you are going to fall over backwards when you first sit in it, but it seems to be stable. Biggest problem is the lack of head support which would have been nice for a quick nap by the campfire before dinner. I have since purchased an additional Helinox Sunset Chair which is the Chair One's slightly heavier and "high backed" brother. I LOVE IT!!!
