H3D FR Carbon Wheel - Clincher

If you’re racing a triathlon that doesn’t allow full-disc wheels, the HED H3D FR Carbon Wheels are a great option. They’re the fastest wheels HED makes, save for the full discs, and being one of HED’s fastest wheels is certainly something to brag about. The wheels are not only fast, but they’re quite stable in a surprising variety of wind conditions, too –they’re not headwind-only wheels, which my actually make them better than many disc wheels.

The H3Ds have an aluminum brake track, which we find preferable in racing conditions, it’s just one less thing to think about when you’re maxed out. They include titanium skewers, and carry a recommended weight limit of 250lbs. Front and rear wheels are sold separately, and the rear is available with either Shimano/SRAM or Campagnolo freehub bodies.
