Insane aeronautical technology sets the Head I.CT Intelligence Snowboard apart from the pack. To say this Head snowboard is intelligent is like saying Einstein had a couple of decent thoughts. This Head snowboard incorporates vibration-dampening Intellifibers that give you a smoother and more powerful ride the faster you cruise. Intellifibers were originally designed to reduce the vibrations of helicopter blades while increasing their thrust, so you can imagine the killer effect they have in a snowboard. You probably need an advanced degree to actually understand this kind of technology, but we can tell you that an integrated I.CT microchip amplifies the energy the Intellifibers use to increase the torsional rigidity of the snowboard at high speeds. This is one stealth freeride assassin.

Bottom Line: Head is taking snowboard technology into the 21st century.

I'm a Fan

I bought this on a whim a few years back and haven't regretted it at all. The board is light, never feels too stiff or too soft, is VERY quick edge-to-edge and loves pretty much everything I throw at it.

The Intelligence stuff seemed kinda gimmicky, but I am a believer. The first thing you notice is that the board doesn't chatter. Once it starts to flex rapidly, the board stiffens up instantly and locks in like there is no tomorrow. I was really impressed at how it calms down icy corduroy. As you cross the ribs, it allows a split second of vibration (kinda feels like a small, intense burp at your feet) then you are locked in. I haven't found anything this board doesn't like and I feel only limited by my lame skills and edge sharpness. The board has one interesting quirk - I found myself burying the nose a few times, mostly on transitions from groomed to ungroomed. I think the board was stiffening up as it was expected to bend into the powder. I lean back a bit more now and haven't had any problems.

The binding mounts are awesome. Icy or hardpack? Loosen the screws and slide forward. Deep powder - set them back. It only takes a minute or two and you don't lose your angles. I noticed that Burton is using a similar kind of system these days, so Head must be on to something.

I like the color scheme, but like all things black and glossy it shows every stinking scratch or ding. I use white P1 bindings and get a lot of compliments on the look. The black/white/gold combo looks like the board a rap superstar would ride - the 22" rimmed Escalade of the hill.

Head Intelligence I.CT = power when you want it

By: Backcountry.com Vendor Rep
November 21, 2008

I am the sales rep for Head Snowboards. I want to give everyone an idea of what the Head Intelligence I.CT is capable of. This is really one of the easiest riding and best performing boards available today. Its hard to believe that anyone can make a board that is easy to ride and also has an extremely high level of performance packed into it. The Intelligence Chip Technology makes this possible. Head did not develop this technology as it comes from the military. Honestly its practically rocket science. But what Intelligence allows you to do make a board that in soft snow is easy to ride, forgiving, and torsionally softer. You can actually relax on this board. However, in hard snow and at high speeds the board practically turns into a race board. This is the most versatile board on the market. You could race a boardercross one run and then go teach a lesson for a first time rider on the same board. The I.CT is also the same board that Clif Dimon won the North Face Masters at Snowbird Feb 10, 2008. Clif had basically been retired for a few years when decided to go compete in this comp as there was a nice $$$ prize. He killed it. He has also won the Crested Butte Extremes on this board several times before taking a break for a couple of years. If you want more info about he Intelligence Chip technology just go to youtube and search 'head intelligence snowboards'. One other mention is the board has the hardest and fastest base material money can buy. Notice that there are no fancy die-cuts on the running surface of the base on the I.CT. This is to maximize the speed capabilities on this board as its a popular board for boarder X.
