Head’s Raptor 120 RS Ski Boot is the prime predator up on the mountain. This race boot has a 120-flex index that won’t wimp out on you when things get critical at high speeds. The aggressive, race-inspired stance encourages cheek-flapping velocities and ninja-like carves, and the tight 98mm last ensures precision feel and power transmission. Head gave this burly boot double canting adjustment so you can dial them to suit your anatomy, be it knock-kneed or bowlegged.

Bottom Line: Clever girl.

Amazing feedback

The new substantially more anatomic last employed by Head is truly amazing.. the instep response, positive canting really help you feel like you're connected to the ski. I've about 20 days on mine, and have added a ZipFit Gara to it for improved performance... http://www.zipfit.com/

not the widest boots @ 98mm forefoot, and with the more anatomical last (closer shell->foot contact at key areas)... if you're a high-instep E, I'd suggest that the Raptor is not the right boot... that is unless you are willing to press and grind. for an e+ I'd suggest something with a 102 or, better yet, see a boot fitter who can make it fit.

I can say this, if this boot fits, it will perform like no other. the anatomical last is the best of any.

My feet are E to EE-width and the S13 (100 mm width) works pretty well for me - although I wish the instep was a bit higher. The S11 is wider though I believe. I think the Raptor series runs narrower though.

Agressive & Stiff

By:
February 11, 2009

Very forward-leaning. Yes, you can adjust it, but know it is an agressive downhill stance, and walking or bootpacking in them is interesting. Also, the fit of the Raptor is true to size, so if you downsize your shell be careful; my instep gets crunched hard. Overall a great boot for race-inspired skiing and turns, on powder, mank or groomers.

Hi...how did you adjust your forward flex on your raptor when I flex the buckles seem to touch and the sides bow out creating more ankle space than I think I need for a tight fit....Thanks and all the best..Angelo
