Securing your kayak on the roof of your car with flimsy string, fraying rope, or in desperation, dental floss, is not very effective. Grab two of the Harmony Tie-Down Straps instead. The one-inch-wide polyester webbing won't stretch when it gets wet, and the cam buckles make it easy to cinch down tight so your craft doesn't rocket off the top of your car. Choose the Harmony nine-foot-long Tie-Down Strap to secure one kayak on your car top, or the fifteen-foot strap for wider loads.
Bottom Line: Launch your kayak at the dock, not on the freeway.

They're good tie downs for the price. Overlay stitching means they should hold up for some time. Little details like the pad under the metal buckle are nice (not sure how the pads will wear overtime) The buckles are a little hard to pull through; but at least they shouldn't slip.
