What a feeling! I couldn’t keep the smile off my face today! Not only did I hit even, but now I’m slightly ahead of par. Damn, I cannot believe how long it took me to get back on par!

As I made the transition from North America to South America in June, I slowly fell behind. The farthest behind was probably around 75,000 feet and then I would gain some and loose some as the months passed. Finally on October 10th, day 283, we are ahead of par. At an average of 5480 ft a day I should be at 1550840, and I am at 1553460 ft, exactly 2620 feet ahead.

Today’s adventure was motivation behind my journey. Each creamy corn lap was fun, each summit exciting. And when I hit par, on the summit of Volcano Viejo, I showed the mountains that HILL is still kickin’!
