The Hammock Bliss All Purpose Shelter is a tarp made to be used in the backcountry with a Hammock Bliss Hammock. This tarp attaches to the same anchors as your hammock, and it stretches over the top to protect you from the rain or sun. Put the dark-colored side up when it looks like rain, or use the silver side to reflect the sun so you can take a cool nap in the afternoon. The Hammock Bliss All Purpose Shelter weighs just a pound and folds up into an 8 x 9 inch stuff sack. Use the All Purpose Shelter with the Mosquito Free Hammock Bliss for a bomber backcountry setup.

Bought two of these for covering hammocks.

First, note the number of tie-outs - four corners and two middles on the short sides. It needs two middles for the long sides however - you *will* get wet when the precip causes sagging. It does not matter how taut this is pitched, there needs to be more tie-outs. You can add your own though (several methods).

For the price though, good low weight material, easy setup and durable so far. It does the job with a little help.

Essential hammock addition

Needed a tarp for my ENO doublenest and this thing works great. Waterproof, quick n' easy to setup, and works fairly well when using the white side to reflect sun. Doubles well as a quick setup shelter from rain where under you have plenty of space to cook, play cards, etc

Is this a rectangle 120" by 68"? Is it designed to be just a hammock shelter or would it work as a tarp shelter on the ground as will?

I just got one brand new and cheaper off of with free shipping. the material itself is lighjtweight and durable.... but you want to use it as a tarp/rain fly... not a groundcloth. it's pretty durable but too likely to rip if it's on the ground.

it's very good size... but it is meant to be used with a hammock or as an instant shelter.

the reflective side..... is almost white. not silvery at all
