Better than pounding post-ride cheeseburgers.

A few things to know about whey—it's one of the most easily digestible protein sources out there, contains key amino acids, and is packed full of antioxidants. What does all this mean? Well, pretty much that Hammer Nutrition's Whey Protein Powder is one of the best ways to help your body recover after hard exercise. The protein replenishes the stores that are depleted after two hours or so of activity, the amino acids help repair small muscle tears and fight off soreness, and the antioxidants help eliminate the free radicals that are produced when you’re out riding, running, or adventuring. Since whey proteins are easy for the body to assimilate and whey is nearly 100% protein, it's one of the most efficient ways to refuel after a hard workout. Bonus: it tastes good, so you won't have to force yourself to choke it down.

pretty good

Easily digested, though the chocolate flavor is meh. Not offensive but not something I crave. Then again, it's a protein drink so, who cares?

Great stuff!

I have used the Chai flavor for years on and off, it seems to work pretty well! It also helps when I'm overseas and the chow hall doesn't have an appetizing, non-fried protein source... The Chai is not very sweet, just a little spicy (cinnamon and such, I believe). Milk brings the sweetness out a bit more though, which is excellent!

Easily digestible protein

I try to have a whey protein drink within 30 minutes of finishing a ride. It really seems to help with muscle recovery so I'm ready to go again the next day! You can mix it with water, milk, or soy milk, etc. and it is always tasty. Definitely pricey for the amount you get, though. Note: the product is in a round, plastic container- not the 'bags' pictured here.
