Haiku Ultimate Messenger Bag - 2008 BCS

My wife was not satisfied with any of the so called "Diaper Bags" we looked at for our son. So we turned to bags at Backcountry and after researching Haiku, we learned the founder of Haiku actually designed this as a diaper bag with a slot for a laptop. Guess that shows the needs of parents these days. Although we plan to never need a computer when we out with our son, the bag is perfect. Large inner pockets hold cream, toys, diapers, clothes and other necessities and the two bottle holders are the same faux leather as the bag with tight elastic to hold in the tiny bottles. Plastic guards on the bottom reduce wear and prop it off the ground about 12 inch. The material seems super durable and we can't wait to use it for this guy and maybe if another one comes along later!

Great Bag! Pricey (I had a gift certificate, or else I wouldn't have indulged. Backcountry.com had the Best price) but sturdy, roomy, pretty. Wish it had more zip-closures. I use it as an everyday bag, not for laptop. The section for a laptop would be perfect for that use-or a diaper bag-but gets in my way of stuffing the bag full! Haven't washed it yet but it's so utilitarian I havent needed to. Well thought-out, overall. Like the lobster clasp for keys, side pockets for water. Too bulky, I think, to take hiking. But use it for everything else.

I got this bag for teaching. I didn't want anything too fussy, but it did need enough room to hold random supplies, a water bottle, papers & a small purse. This bag is perfect for that. I love that it's not real leather and the strap is very comfortable. I don't carry my laptop with me to school, but the pocket is perfect for keeping papers neat. I've even used it on some weekend trips.
