- Q & A
Excellent and Fairly Lightweight
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I went out on a whim and bought this pack as I searched and searched for a while to find a new pack I like. I chose this one based off its price and their easy to adjust suspension system. Shortly after receiving the pack I took it on its first trip. These are my thoughts below:
This is why I gave it 4 stars overall. The biggest portion of packing for me was working around the wedge shape bottom of the pack. Because of the taper if you have a large sleeping bag may not fit at the bottom.
Front and top loading
Easy one hand draw string close and opening. Can't stress how nice this is.
Spacious outer pocket
Inner strap for sleeping bag
Tapers towards the bottom
Has loops for webbing on outside of pack, but no webbing.
This is where I started to enjoy the pack more than any negatives of it. The easy adjust system was wonderful and really helped fine tune setup before hitting the trail. The pack includes a rain cover which is awesome especially if it rains or there is wet ground out your tent site. It also has trekking pole holders which came in handy more than once. My favorite part is with the padding the pack sits off your back enough to let some air pas through. It was nice, but if it is hot out you will sweat. All compartments were easy to get into while on the trail and I loved being able to open from the front to keep from digging around in the pack. A nice touch is the top pocket/lid is a removable day pack. So if you want to take a quick hike up a ridge or something you can take just that along.
The pack kept fairly clean and dry my whole trip, but brushing off diet was fairly painless. I think a quick spray with the hose will get most debris off the pack. Didn't have any issues with clips breaking or and rips in the pack yet.
All in all I'm fairly satisfied with this pack. Keep in mind with it being a 65L for a long weekend can be slightly challenging I'd not all your gear is ultralight. When purchasing I didn't see a 75L version which would be awesome. If you are looking for a fairly Lightweight and flexible pack this is for you. Its price wasn't terrible and you can catch a sale every once in a while.
What size pack would fit me best? im a girl, about 5.25ft .and whats the difference between rose65 and nejd 65(the same brand)
