Rando AS Jacket - Men's

Serious ski touring and randonee racing demand pretty specific qualities from your gear, so Haglöfs made the Rando AS Men's Jacket to fit the needs of skiers who care about the way up as much as the way down. It's super lightweight—well under a pound—and breathes like a set of lungs, thanks to the Gore-Tex Active waterproof and breathable membrane, which is Gore's most breathable offering. It also features articulated sleeves, extra-long laminated underarm vents to keep you cool on the ascent, and a full DWR treatment to repel water or keep you dry under the champagne victory showers. 

The Rando AS will certainly keep you dry and comfortable without weighing you down, but it isn't a super-minimalist shell. Haglöfs has 100 years of experience building gear for the mountains, so it's well aware that you need convenient and weather-defeating features like an adjustable and helmet-compatible, removable stretch powder skirt, and a dropped hem for extra coverage in deep snow and bad weather. The hem adjusts with a single pull and the shaped cuffs have a hook-and-loop tab to seal out snow, while the internal pocket is big enough to keep your skins accessible for quick transitions and yo-yo laps.
