We have since scratched it all up pretty well but it still cleans well.

Holds your food.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Like Rita, my wife and I actually used these as everyday dishes for five months while living out of our car (long story). They were actually a generous pitty gift from Lexi (backcountry employee) for being in the top 50 reviewers and trying to explain that we didn't really have an address. Goes to show that backcountry isn't too big to not care about their customers/community.

These have held up very well, and are easy to clean. If using it for backpacking though I probably would leave the little cup and the bowl and its lid at home as the big cup is plenty big. Also just a personal preference but I don't care for the shape of the fork when eating (weird right?) but the spoon is fine- that being said we haven't really used the utensils very much- I prefer metal.

Love it

So I actually purchased this because all my dishes are in storage and I needed something that wasn't glass. This is nice cause it works great as a home dish and I can also take it camping. It cleans easy. Over all very please!

cheap, sturdy and adjustable.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I like this set, thank you backcountry, for several reasons. The material is strong so i don't think it will ever break on my when i need it (always a plus). It's inexpensive and i'm no longer eating out of metal material that makes that noise when you run a metal fork over it and it doesn't burn my hands when i'm trying to stay warm while eating hot soup. Favorite item in there is either the bowl or the insulated mug (both of which have lids) because it's what you/I use the most. The plate is a little big and useless (for me) and the silverware is also a little unnecessarily large, so packing tightly isn't the best. But for the majority of what I do it works great. If you buy this pack, you can take stuff out and put stuff in before a trip depending on what you need/want. For that reason I give this 5 stars.

Stellar set for any adventure!

Look no further if you need a sweet set up to eat your grub wherever you might be. Everything in this set is super durable. I was especially surprised with the strength of the utensils. I love how neatly everything is stored in the storage sack. Makes it nice for travel.

Everything You Need, Nothing You Don't

I'm really psyched on this tableset as I not only use it while camping, but as a place setting at work when one of our coworkers happens to bring in food. The materials are pretty burly, especially the plate, mug and bowl.

The utensils are a little less so, but flexible enough to make them comfortable to use. Be careful if you really like the color though as some foodstuffs colored similar to marinara sauce or the like will stain if left on there too long. The storage bag is very cool too, just be sure to remember how GSI organize3d everything in there to get the most potability out of it if your pack space is low.

Yep, even though GSI doesn't say anything about it , polypropylene aka Lexan is microwave safe.

Great Set

If you're looking for a set to start backpacking/ car camping with look no further. It has everything you need to dine in style, and it will last ages. Well worth it.

They're also great for the roommate who consistently breaks dishes.

Stout and Compact

Great little set up. Everything about it is stout, and cleans up nicely. I especially love the solid feel to the utensils, and the coffee mug!

Good Eating Set!

Fits nicely in the storage sack, and makes everything dry out easily! The drinking glass and mug nest together nicely, and the silverware is super durable and works great. It's nice to have a plastic knife that actually cuts!

excellent set

I love this setup. Everything fits nicely into the mesh carrying sac. Excellent for car camping, doesn't take up much space, lightweight and durable. I have the green and it's a fun, bright color. Good for backpacking, too. I don't take the entire set backpacking, but do take the insulated coffee mug and bowl and it's just perfect.
