Are the plates and bowls microwavable? I might use them at work sometimes, too.
Yes, the polypropylene plastic used in these is microwave safe- it won't melt.
Nice compact set
The bowls and cups are the perfect size for camping, but the plates are a little small. Overall, a nice compact set to keep in the car camping duffel.
family gift, main use of car camping.
Well we had this delivered intime for Christmas day unwrapping. We actually pitched the tent we also got and had had the kids(2 and 1). The one time we used them they worked as they should. They cleaned up well in the dishwasher and we cant wait to get them to a campsite.
Great Technology - Super Compact
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I have a family of 4 and we go on trips in a small Honda Civic. We have no storage room at all so every square inch counts. this set fits perfectly into the pot and pan set that GSI offers. Easy to clean but make sure you don't use metal on them because they scratch pretty easily.

Can someone tell me the packed dimensions of this, particularly the diameter.
The dimensions of the box are 7.7L x 7.7W x 4.4H but I don't have the actual diameter of the set.

Can someone tell me the packed diameter of this kit? Thanks.
Perfect for the four of us
This is a great set for the four of us.
Takes up little space and is lightweight. The bowls seem like they wouldn't hold much, but they actually do. The plastic has been very durable so far. I like the fact that the bowls and mugs have measuring marks on the insides to help with cooking. These are easy to clean, dry, and put away. I have used the entire set for car camping and brought the mugs and bowls backpacking. The kids like these because they can each pick the color they want to use and call their own.
A great purchase for sure.

There are 5 of us in the family. I love the looks of this nesting set but, it only has 4 settings. Anyone out there have a recommendation on a system that is compact and can accomodate 5 of us? Perhaps something that is ordered individually but can still be nested together?
Hi Erin, yeah tough to break out of the standard 4 person household mold that most mfg's seem to cater too... Not sure what your circumstances are but I really like the flat plastic origami foldable ware, much lighter, space saving and easier to clean... plus you can buy as many of the individual cookset pieces as you need... here's what I use: http://www.orikaso.com but BC.com also carries the Fozzils brand version... check it out, cool stuff...
