Two quick wire gate carabiners and a sturdy, sheathed Dyneema sling make up the Grivel Plume Quick Easy Quickdraw. Lightweight for your afternoon assaults, this quickdraw's 11-centimeter sling is covered in a contoured 3F handle for easy installation and removal. The molded polycarbonate sling handle also reduces direct pressure on the sling so it can withstand grinding on ledges. This quickdraw comes in a pack of five and features three different color options so you can customize your rack, routes, or wall at home.

I'm looking to but some Draws to start...

I'm looking to but some Draws to start sport climbing and l'm between these and the Black Diamond Freewires (or both?) how do you guys like the handles on these? do you find them useful? Thanks!

Best Answer

Except for the added abrasion resistance the plastic handle offers, I think the thick sling on the Freewires work just as well as a solid handle in those "Oh-crap-help-me!" moments, without the added stiffness, bulk, and weight of the plastic sheaths.

Happy trails!

I don't know how many you've bought, but I would recommend 12 for sport routes. It's rare to have a route with more than 10 bolts, and then you have two draws left for anchors.

@Hunter Lea:
According the respective web sites the Grivel Plume quickdraw is 2.75oz while BD Freewire is 3.5oz so I am not sure what weight penalty you are referring to.
