Description

There are two types of climbers. Those who see no use for the Grivel Lil' Monster Ice Tool and those who see hundreds of uses.

The Grivel created the Lil' Monster Ice Tool's shaft design to fit the highly specialized pursuits developing in the ever-changing sport of ice and mixed climbing. Everyone from speed climbing competitors to beginning ice climbers have found that the Lil' Monster Ice Tool opens a new level of fun and efficiency in the sport. This unique Grivel ice tool hooks securely in trafficked ice routes and mixed climbs. It also has an enclosed grip to eliminate the bashed knuckles that plague beginning climbers.

Has anybody tried these yet? I do a lot...

Has anybody tried these yet? I do a lot of winter hiking/alpining along the Blue Ridge, as well as Washington and Jefferson National Forests in VA and WVA. All the frozen waterfalls scream for me to climb them, and I plan to answer the call this winter.
I'm not ready to drop $200+ per tool just yet, and am considering these or the X Monster.

The lil monster is primarily for hooking pitted out/ climbed ice. The x monster will do the same but is easier to swing into virgin ice. Also the handle of the x monster is much better for plunging in alpine situations. I was lookingg at the lil's but went with the x monster.
