Once you add this long drink of water to your fishing quiver, you'll be hard-pressed to angle with anything else. This carbon-fiber rod replaces the much-loved GRXi+; the GR50 is lighter and has a flat finish so twitchy fish won't get freaked by rod flash. With 17 rods to choose from, you'll find your main squeeze with ease, and a few extras so you're ready for anything.
Carbon fiber keeps this rod easy in your hand so you can save your strength for a wretchedly long reeling. Both the reverse well and full well handles are made from AAA-grade cork with a spit of composite cork at the bottom to give the grip a bit more life. The reel seat depends on the length and weight of your rod: all reverse-well handled rods have a wood burl spacer with an anodized aluminum thread seat and double nut locks, while all full-well handled rods have a fully anodized ally reel seat that also has double nut locks. While the GR50 doesn't come with a reel, Greys recommends either the GX500 or GX700 to finish off your fishing set-up.
The action on this high-performance rod can only be described as awesome, perhaps modified with a freakin'. You'll find fluidity whether you're overhead casting or using a roll (or jump roll) motion. Don't fear the wind since you'll be able to accurately place your fly unless you're too busy chasing your hat as it gets blown down the river.
