In Greys' line of rods, the 4-Piece GR10 Fly Rod holds its place as an affordable fly rod that still carries much of the DNA of Greys' higher-cost rods. This rod is as tolerant as they come, giving beginners the room to learn without being critical. Despite the GRT10 having a fairly relaxed attitude, seasoned fishers will be able to use this rod to shoot tight loops with ease.
Carbon keeps this 4-piece rod light and nimble. The composite cork handle stays strong and sturdy even when your casting turns to pure crap. The lighter-weight rods have reverse half-well handles, and the heavier weight rods usually have full-well handles with a fighting butt, otherwise more politely referred to as an extension handle. This design is deliberate, as you're not likely to need extra help reeling in a trout smaller than your pet goldfish.
The black, anodized reel seat is ready for either the Greys GX300 or GX500 reel (sold separately), and it won't break down when you decide you're done casting on grass and seek out some salty action. Medium action refers to the rate at which the rod bends and recovers. What this means for your fishing forays is that the GR10 rod has room for errors and is still snappy enough to satisfy exacting anglers. When you're done and you've wiped down the rod, store it safely in the included cloth rod bag.

What is the IMxx rating of this rod? (IM6,IM7?) I prefer and use only medium-fast to fast action rods these days. Yes, have used slower rod actions before, but prefer the immediate strike feedback of high modulus rods overall.
