Like its big brother, the Gregory Z35-r Backpack is lightweight and features the same rugged, ventilating suspension system. But this 2,135-cubic-inch backpack is ideal for long day hikes or a quick overnighter. Gregory's Jet Stream suspension system allows for air flow so you don't sweat to death underneath your pack, thanks to a perforated frame sheet and a mesh back panel. Aluminum stays provide lightweight but sturdy vertical load support, and scapula and lumbar pads make carrying your gear more comfortable. Both the waist-belt and harness have moisture-wicking mesh to keep you dry underneath your straps. Access your gear through the roll-top lid. Stash anything you want within easy reach, such as a shell or energy bars, in the external pockets or the waist-belt pockets. Water-resistant zippers help keep light precipitation away from your gear. The high-quality ripstop nylon combines durability and low weight.

Ranging from larger daypacks for light and fast overnights to small packs for a quick out-and-back hike, the Z and Jade hiking packs deliver. The suspension can handle up to 35lbs with ease. A curved, hybrid Wire Wishbone frame stiffens against the framesheet as more weight is loaded, allowing the pack to properly and efficiently transfer the weight directly to the lumbar pad and your hips.

    Good Weekender...

This is my weekend pack. I use the Gregory Palisade 80 Backpack for my longer hikes, but this guy is a good size for weekend trips if your not bringing a ton of stuff. I'm not crazy about the way you get in and out of the top, but it's quick. It sits well on my back and have no problem carrying 30 lbs. with it. I'm 6 ft. tall and weigh 185lbs and have the Med. size. It also works great for hauling my climbing gear and have used it on big wall climbing. Gregory is one of the best pack makers around, and have never had a Gregory pack I didn't like. They also last of years and years...

Does anyone know if I can fit a 100oz....

Does anyone know if I can fit a 100oz. Camelbak reservoir in this bag? I have one of the older-style rectangular bladders, not the new "Omega" shape. Thank you!

Also, does this work well for an overnight or weekend trip, assuming one travels relatively light? After a small tent, and small sleeping bag, is there adequate room for food and cookware? Approximately how much space is there to stuff something like a jacket in one of the exterior pockets?

Will this pack fit into the overhead bin...

Will this pack fit into the overhead bin on an airplane?

I've got the large Z35-R. I've had no trouble using it for a carry-on in the US, and SA. But I did have an airline employee tell me I'd have to check it in Peru, because supposedly the flight was full. However, when I got on the plane it was half empty. There was lots of room in the overheads. I think it just depends who you get and how full it it is.
      Terrific pack.
