Description

Outdoor durability meets urban design.

The city is called a concrete jungle for a reason: it's rough out there. So be prepared with the durable Gregory Civilian Messenger Bag. The 1680D ballistic nylon and 840D ballistic nylon fabrics can take all of your touch love, and the 2-inch webbing strap with the webbing-keeper cross strap pad will make your heavy load seem comfortable. Stash your laptop in the padded sleeve with security strap to keep it safe from the cold, hard streets; there are plenty of other pocket options to keep your gear organized. The streets just got a little nicer.

  • 1680D ballistic nylon and 840D ballistic nylon fabrics
  • 2-inch webbing strap
  • Front zippered pocket on main compartment with EPO weather flap
  • Padded laptop sleeve with Velcro security strap
  • Tubular webbing grab handle on back

FYI for people with 17" laptops

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Any other folks out there with 17" laptops know it can be challenging to find a bag that fits. Unfortunately even though this one says the dimensions should fit a 17", it doesn't actually fit in the laptop compartment. It's solid looking enough that I'm keeping it (especially because I got a great deal on SAC!), but I'll have to put my laptop in the main compartment, where it fits if I put it in vertically than shift it once it's in there. Time will tell about the water-resistance!

I see the comparable Timbuk2 has a waterproof liner; is this one waterproof or water resistant?

Responded on

Joa,

Unfortunately none of the tech specs on Gregory's website list this as having either waterproof or water-resistant fabric.
