The Granite Gear AirVent DryBloc Solid Dry Bag uses an eVent bottom and a semi-cylindrical shape to compress your gear down and eliminate useless dead-air zones inside your pack.

  • Ultralight Cordura and taped seams block moisture without adding excess weight
  • See-through sil-nylon fabric makes it easy to identify gear
  • 210D nylon reinforcement at the arches increases durability

Bottom Line: Easy packing.

Essential in the NW

This is a great product for any sort of wet weather adventure. I've used them for down sleeping bags, tents, and clothing. The mouth stays open while loading, easy to roll shut, and compression cords are awesome - better than straps and they never get twisted up. Also nice to use with a tent on multiday adventures - throw it in wet/damp and it doesn't get the rest of the stuff in your pack soaked. The small is about 12 or 13 liters and is just right for a 20 degree down bag or a 2-3 person 3 season tent. Very durable as well, even with repeated compressions and being tossed around and shoved in packs. The bloc system makes packing in a backpack very hand as well - much easier than a more circular shape other compression sacks use.

Water test

Had to test how water proof it really was. Clothes were bone dry after several throws into the lake.

I ordered several of these and I like them though they aren't the easiest to squish down evenly, you have to pack it well to get it compressed evenly. Also the sizes are a little odd, very skinny and long, I'd prefer shorter and wider, but that's just me I guess.

Dry and Tight

By:

I took this bag along on a 5 day canoe trip in northern Minnesotta (BWCA). Even through the heavy rain on the first and second days, numerous portages this sack kept the sleeping bag inside dry! The compression cords, and self venting made it easy to slam that bag smaller than I though possible, leaving lots of room in my pack. Great product in the field and on the buget!
