    Bugs begone!

The Grand Trunk Mosquito Net attaches to most hammocks in order to act as a barrier between you and all the nasty critters that live in the wilderness you love to backpack in. No-see-um mesh shields you from skeeters and lets you enjoy the scenery, breathe in all that fresh air, and relax in your hammock. Grand Trunk included a built-in floor for full protection, and you can store some gear in there too. Spreader bars quicken your setup, and the floor has some loops so you can stake it down in windy weather. A carry case keeps it compact in your backpack.

    • Built-in floor with staking capability
    • Full-length zipper
    • 32-inch spreader bars
    • Carry case included

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

We use several Ticket To The Moon hammocks (a bit larger than Eno's with their single being about an Eno Double) and the regular bug-nets simply draped in your face anytime the wind blew. Put them up higher and they fluttered that much more. Too low and it was distracting. What separates the Grand Trunk design are the two poles that act as spreaders and keep the net away from you as well as the stake-able bottom area. With the spreaders it keeps the sides away from rubbing against the hammock and from hanging in your face whether you stake them or not. The bottom itself is a finished material that is great for putting things like shoes (so you can put them on without getting bug-munched), storing a small cooler or snacks without bugs having a picnic, etc.

The single zipper stops at the top which makes it easier to finish zipping once you are laying back or for short unzips to pass things like drinks through.

Why 4 instead of 5 stars? The poles feel pretty cheap and are heavier than they need to be, especially if you are backpacking. They also are a bit loose in the sleeves they fit into but we have not had one come loose yet. Better / lighter poles and a bit tighter sleeve design would 'net' this a 5.

That having been said, my friend tried to kidnap mine so we got a second one to go with it.
