Riding in the summer heat requires a jersey that keeps you cool and comfortable. Now, take away sleeves and you're left with the Gore Bike Wear Women's Xenon 2.0 Singlet,a summer piece that is lightweight, minimalist, and made for tough rides.

Sitting close to the top of the Gore Bike Wear line, the Women's Xenon 2.0 Singlet follows in the footsteps of its sleeved sister, the Women's Xenon Jersey, in fabric technology, construction, and fit. Made for long, hot days in the saddle, the Xenon singlet utilizes Schoeller's signature Coldblack fabric, which reflects sunlight to reduce heat build-up and provide more effective UV protection. The fabric is bound together using ultrasonic seam technology instead of thread, essentially welding the fabric. The result is a tight, flat seam that doesn't cause friction against your skin where traditional seams would usually rub, and is lower in bulk and weight.

Partial mesh inserts add ventilation to the front of the jersey for riding at the peak of summer heat. Even with the minimalist design, the full length zipper adds an extra feature for dumping heat in a hurry. The semi-locking slider keeps the zipper positioned where you want it but makes it easy to adjust one handed on the go. A zip-underflap runs the full length of the singlet so undergarments and skin aren't snagged or abraded by zipper teeth. Gripper elastic on the bottom hem keeps the singlet in place so you can get into the drops without exposing your back.

The Xenon Singlet may have sacrificed sleeves for summer riding, but it kept the ample storage room of the Xenon jersey. Three back pockets, tapered on the sides for easy access, offer plenty of storage options for riding essentials during an all-day ride. Reflective print on the sides adds style and safety to the singlet. The reflective piping on the back and logo on the front and back create 360 degrees of visibility for early morning and evening rides.

The Gore Bike Wear Women's Xenon 2.0 Singlet is available in two-tone color combinations, White/black, Thai Pink/white, Citrus Green/white, and Black/white. It comes in sizes from X-Small to XX-Large.

  • Stretchy fabric and multi-panel design enhance aerodynamic fit
  • Mesh inserts and a full front zipper allow easy ventilation
  • Long back length provides extra coverage when you’re in cycling position, and is held in place by gripper elastic
  • Three back pockets feature angled sides for easy access when you're on the go

Great breathability

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got this jersey from a friend as a present. I don't typically wear sleeveless jersey's but since I needed to get a tan, I wasn't going to complain. The fabric is soft and doesn't itch or feel awkward against the skin. I thought the jersey fit was okay, but I felt like I could have used a small instead of a medium.

Great reflective accents to protect you at lower light conditions.
This line ends up running true-to-size, and I wish I would have ordered one size down; just a little bit too big, especially the chamois, in this size (XXL) anyway. Will order a XL next time...For reference, I'm 5'6", and I don't want to talk about my weight! So take heart ladies, you can still have top performing bike gear, whatever your size/ability...truly working on it, gotta long way to go, I know!

(* Those are Gore's Xenon socks; I would say they are best for Spring/Fall as they are not as breezy as L.G. or the Giordana's. They have a fit/weight more like Assos' Spring/Fall socks).

What a Surprise!

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Well, after reading another reviewer regarding a great experience with the Xenon shorts, I decided to give the Xenon jersey (and the Xenon jacket) a try...what a great surprise!
So while I still love Giordana, these are just about as good...I can't believe I said that, but it's true (providing there are no quality issues down the road).

This jersey performed perfectly on a extremely hot & humid ride today.
The back of the jersey is total mesh, and so totally breathable, even with my hydration pack (loaded, as usual). At breaks on the trail, my back, under the pack area, (which gets a bit sweaty in just a small spot only), was dry in no time.

I like the pockets, totally reachable, though I don't really use them; but if you don't carry a pack, you'll find them very accessible (same goes for the ALP-X 2.0 jersey).

The zipper is easy to operate, no tugging or fumbling around.
I had no problems with the arm holes, and in fact, there was more grace in the arm holes in this jersey than with my Giordana laser jersey. Just have to order the correct size.

Gore also offers Xenon bike socks. They're great; form fit right/left foot; padded under ball of foot; high tech fabric; low cuff; white or black/grey/wt. red accents. See them on the Gore site.
Size is true to the chart.
I got the white/blk (white front, black back *but word to the wise: the white is very thin and I wish I would have ordered the black fronted jersey instead; had to order this direct from Gore) for my size; and the matching Xenon blk./white, and white Xenon jacket from B.C. on sale!...very sharp for dry summer days/evenings.

Stamp on back of product reads:

Will post any quality issues if they arise.

Wanted to love it, but . . .

This sleeveless jersey looked perfect . . . I liked the collar closing, with the zipper extending only til the neckline which is much more comfortable than the mandarin collars with the zipper all the way to the top of the collar. But . . . this jersey ran very small. I usually wear small in the PI jerseys (am 5'1", 105 lbs.), but this one was way too snug and clingy - not flattering. Also the armholes were tight, with elastic on the undersides - was not comfortable for me. So, had to send it back - it might have worked in a larger size, but I didn't want to chance it. I am still searching for the perfect biking sleeveless jersey!

Yea, it seems all the Gore bike clothes run small; I always go a size up. You may want to try the Gioradana line...the Forma Red is really, really nice; but the Silverline is O.K., too (and that lineup is a bit more forgiving/comfortable, both on the body, & the wallet!). The whole line is also very stylish, and that's a nice "bonus". Happy Trails...
