Windproof tights you can wear with your favorite shorts
We all have our favorite pair of summer shorts that fit just right. We've won races and pedaled through some of the most majestic scenery in them, but, unfortunately, they're still summer shorts. Though we wish the weather would permit us to ride in them all year, when the temperatures drop, we slip the Gore Bike Wear Power SO Tights on over our shorts and keep on riding. These chamois-less tights protect your legs from harsh winter winds without having to sacrifice the comfort of your favorite shorts.
The Power SO Tights are made with panels of Gore's WindStopper Soft Shell. The softshell consists of three layers, each one playing a role in keeping you warm for the duration of your ride. The WindStopper membrane is the most vital of the three layers, and is sandwiched in the middle of the softshell to block out cold air. The bottom later holds warm air in its brushed fibers and moves moisture away from the skin for evaporation. The top layer, though not water proof, resists rain and snow so you can finish your ride dry.
Gore knows that comfortable, warm fabrics are all for naught if the fit isn't right. With this in mind, the Power SO Tights were constructed with a wide waistband that sits comfortably around your torso. The knees of the tights are articulated to improve the fit of the stretchy softshell and eliminate chafing behind the knees when you're hammering in the saddle. Flat-lock seams are used throughout the tights so the fabric sits closer to the skin, and irritation doesn't occur where traditional seams typically rub. Ankle zippers and elastic grippers at the cuffs secure the tights to your legs and keep them from moving up while you ride. A single hidden zippered pocket on the back of the tights holds your ID and cash for your post ride espresso. Reflective accents throughout the tights keep you visible to motorists during rides in low-light conditions.
The Gore Bike Wear Power SO Tights come in Black and are available in five sizes, Small through XX-Large.
