Good not great

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These shorts are decent. I have a medium which fits pretty well but I have to pull the waist band up very high to get a snug fit which I'm not the biggest fan of. The chamois in them is pretty decent though.

Disappointed

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The shorts are very comfortable in the heat of summer and on long rides. The problem with the shorts is after about 400 miles the fabric in the groin and inside the thigh area are already showing wear.

Very pleased

I don't have a ton of different shorts but I have some by Pearl Izumi and Castelli and I like this pair by Gore better than either of those. The fabric really is more breathable which helps a lot since I ride in the Texas heat. I'd definitely recommend these to anyone who rides in warm weather. They are also just more comfortable to me in general and have a better chamois. Can't attest to their long-term durability yet since I've only been using mine for a few weeks but so far I am very satisfied.

Recommended with size caution

I purchased these recently - per suggestion went one size up - I am 195 6'3" - 36 inch waist - purchased the XL - the pants fit fine in the waist and seat but the leg openings were too big - pants would have ridden up immediately. Fabric was great - guess I need work on my quads.

Responded on

That is exactly the information I needed since I'm 6'3" and 180 lbs.

Have you compared to the L size? Similar build and have similar fit problems.
