Gore Bike Wear Power II Short - Men's - 2008 BCS

Granted I have only owned two pairs of road bike shorts (due to a recently surmounted lycra phobia), but these are now my go-to shorts. The other pair I have is by colnago, and these just feel better. I just got done with a 50 mile charity ride in them and my butt was happy afterward, much happier than the colnagos. One caveat: they're a little shorter and tend to inch up your leg slightly as you ride, but it wasn't a huge deal. They fit quit well, I'm 5'9", 170 with a 32" waist and got the mediums. They also have a mysterious small pocket... more of a pouch... sewn into the inside front waist band. I'm not 100% sure what they envisioned it being used for. I have a feeling if I put a key in there it would be uncomfortable. Maybe paper money. But, anyway, great shorts + mystery inner tiny pouch = great purchase.

I love these shorts! I have four pairs and they hold up spectacularly -- my oldest ones date back to 2005 or so and they still hold up to three spin classes (and subsequent washes) each week. I've worn lots of different bike shorts in the past; none have compared favorably to these. They don't stretch and bag out, the remain in place, padding is great. Excellent value!
