Description

Ground-breaking breathability.

The Gore Bike Wear Fusion 2.0 GT AS Jacket doesn't have quite as many bells and whistles as Gore's top-line Alp-X GT AS Jacket, but that doesn't mean that it sacrifices anything in the areas of comfort and weather protection. For one thing, it uses the same Gore-Tex Active Shell and Stretch fabrics, which are the most breathable in the Gore-Tex lineup. They keep you moving freely and sheltered from the worst downpours. And since the Fusion Jacket has a simple design, it weighs only a claimed 265g in the Large size. So, let's give it the quick rundown: Light and packable? Check. Fully waterproof? Of course. Breathable? To an extent you may have thought impossible for a waterproof hard shell. All the variables are there to make the Fusion Jacket an essential piece for high-energy output, wet-weather riding.

The Fusion Jacket is constructed of Gore-Tex Active Shell and Stretch fabrics. As a result, the jacket is guaranteed to keep you dry. But it also breathes extremely well and allows you to move freely on the bike. Gore Bike Wear describes the fit as 'slim'; this means that it stays close to the body but isn't constricting. The elbows are pre-shaped so that they don't tug at the armpit when you reach for the handlebars. You can easily adjust the width at the waist via an elastic draw cord.

Again, Gore Bike Wear took a minimalist approach when designing the Fusion Jacket, so there's only one zippered pocket, on the chest. But that shouldn't bother everyone--especially if you're like many of us here who ride with a hydration pack in all but the worst summer heat. Because rainy conditions are often low-light conditions, the Fusion Jacket has reflective front and back logos, and additional reflective print on the sides and back.

The Gore Bike Wear Fusion 2.0 GT AS Jacket comes in sizes Small through XX-Large and in three color options: Black, Petrol Blue/black, and Red/black.

I love this jacket. Perfect for a waterproof outerlayer or a little added warmth on a windy day. Very well made. Light and packable. I use it on rainy/snowy rides in the 25-40 degree range. I also wear it off the bike on rainy days when I needa shell. I'm 6'0 165 and a L fits great.
