Gore Bike Wear's Countdown 2.0 Plus Shorts are Gore's most versatile. The longer cut and removable liner not only make the Countdown stylish casual wear, but allow you to turn your other casual shorts or even pants into suitable bike-wear.

Countdown 2.0 Plus Shorts are what Gore Bike Wear calls hybrid shorts: they mix the best of both baggies and spandex. The Countdown 2.0 Plus outer shorts have a loose, stylish fit that works as well at the pub as it does on the trail. The outer shorts feature an elastic, adjustable waistband with a hook-and-loop closure for a comfortable fit as well as a side pocket with a hook-and-loop closure to ensure you won't lose important small items.

The shorts' removable inner tights provide the wicking and protection you need for those long days in the saddle. They make use of the Contest Man insert, which moves with you to prevent chafing. Gore shifted the liner's seams to reduce chafing. The insert's perforated foam facilitates ventilation to help it dry very quickly and keep you from overheating. The Contest liner also features loops that attach it to the outer shorts to keep them from moving around. If your Countdown shorts are in the wash you can still use the removable tights with any of your other shorts.

Gore Countdown 2.0 Plus Shorts feature a 12-inch (30cm) inseam. These shorts are equipped with reflective piping and other reflective elements. They come in Black, Earth/Black, and Graphite Grey/Black and are available in sizes Small through XX-Large.

Very Versatile

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I've used these shorts on two long bike trips in Europe, where they served to ride and walk around France and Croatia's small towns all day long. They were incredibly comfortable and easy to use as townies. The removable liner was also a plus, as they could be washed in the evening and worn in the morning, even on wet / humid days. The only caveat is that the long crotch could get in the way mounting and dismounting the saddle. But once onboard they rode just fine.
