Improving on perfection.
The Gore Bike Wear Contest Pixel Jersey takes the venerable, yet understated, Contest jersey and adds vibrant graphics to the already successful formula. Isn't it nice to get noticed for the right reasons?
For the Contest Pixel's construction, Gore employed a polyester microfiber fabric for its moisture wicking ability. By transporting sweat from the skin to the surface of the fabric, the Contest jersey takes advantage of evaporative cooling. But, you might be wondering, what is 'evaporative cooling?' Essentially, as your sweat is transported to the surface of the fabric, it turns to vapor, which causes the temperature of the air next to your skin to drop. In turn, the process keeps both the jersey and your skin cool and dry. Gore's fabric selection takes this thermo-regulation even further by using mesh underarm panels in order to provide an ample airflow through the jersey.
A contoured cut and four-way stretch fabric keeps the Contest Pixel moving with your body, not against it. So, the risk of abrasion is nearly eliminated. And to ensure this, Gore also used flatlock stitching throughout the jersey. And, in addition to this, Gore placed a full-length semi-lock zipper at the front of the jersey that lets you dump heat in a hurry. This zipper leads up to a close fitting collar that rests against your neck instead of flapping in the breeze.
To house your ride essentials, the Contest has three rear pockets, with the outside pockets being slanted for easy access while in the saddle. Gore also incorporated reflective materials throughout the jersey in order to increase your visibility to motorists in low-light conditions.
The Gore Bike Wear Contest Pixel Jersey is available in five sizes from Small to XX-Large and in the colors White/red and Red/black.
